sigh The joys of urban living…
Got another knock-a-door-run visit from my downstairs neighbour this morning. This time at least I got a passive-aggressive note requesting that I stop playing music on weekday mornings. The music is honestly as quiet as it can be, so given that I'm a considerate chap and don't want to upset people, I'll just have to stop. Not at all happy with the way she's gone about asking though.
Part of me really wants to just crank Slayer's Reign in Blood one morning as a parting shot!

well as long as she doesn't leave a brick on the gas with the emergency brake on i think the message is clear; she really loves you & just wants you to take a nap & be relaxed when she comes back to the car ::)

Last time I sat in the car waiting my fiance got hit on my an old guy in a wheel chair.

Funny story about that:
An old lady hit me with her wheelchair once in a supermarket coming in
I was very graceful about it, apologized for being in her way
She whacked me with her cane and started yelling at me
I grabbed the brake and cranked it as hard as I could
By the time I was done with my shopping, she was still there trying to undo the brake

Reminds me of one time when I was a kid:
Right after my brother was born, when I was about 6, we went to visit my great-grandparents, called Mom and Pop, in typical Southern manner. Pop had cataracts, but insisted on driving, nonetheless. My mother made me go with Pop to the convenience store down the road. We climbed into his big old Ford sedan and drove off. A few minutes into the trip, Pop started honking and swearing about "all these damn n***ers in the road". Being 6, I couldn't see very well over the giant dash of the massive POS sedan that he was driving, so I pulled up to look.Pop was driving on the sidewalk.
Luckily, he was doing about 15mph and both the road and the sidewalk were deserted, but it was a scary assed trip. In retrospect, that may not have been one of my mother's finest parenting decisions.

i tend to check into respond to the random PMs by newbies & folks that are just nice enough to check on me or give me a hint when something my size might be on the sale rail. my kids aren't sure what to do with me paying attention to them instead of staring & laughing at my phone & my wife hasn't even noticed
