Trunks for legs are ok.  It's having a large thigh to waist ratio that will hurt you.

Just dropped them off with Kiya at Self Edge to be hemmed, will get a picture(s) when I get them back. Guys at Self Edge are absolutely top effing notch. If anyone is ever in SF I would highly recommend swinging by and picking up a fetching pair of trousers from them.

Here are my Busters after 6 months of (office-like) wear. They had 1 wash. I'm an amateur in taking pics:

I wanted to preserve the leather as much as I can. Aim was to avoid cracks
