is it the number on the tag that bothers people, ie tagged size v waist measurement, or is the actual cut, ie thigh/knee relative to waist?

two separate issues really. I could care less about the first.

Yea the tag size vs measurement has no bearing really , but hopefully the thighs are not so skinny you can't fit in them if your a smaller waist with thicker legs

I agree with jaco.  If you can't figure out how to size based on measurements, call Self Edge and ask.  Tag "size" is always a recommendation, not a rule.

My concern is the waist:thigh ratio; it's just not right for me.  Add in the tight, densely woven heavy denim, (way too hot for Houston weather) and I'm out.

I am interested in seeing other people's experiences with them, however.

they measure the thigh 1 inch down from the crotch.  Please consider that when comparing against the measurements on Iron Heart UK which measures at the thigh.

Yup, that normally yields a thigh measurement that looks smaller if you're comparing it to measurements taken at the crotch seam.

Nah, I know, I think they will fit me, I'm saying just to get a little of that indigo reduced, it's soooo dark, prob will soften it up a bit too.

Yea, I hear you, we will see. I asked kiya, told him I wear 34 in flathead 3009, so he recommended the 33 in the sexihxlsxa13. But the flathead is actually a little to tight in the waist and looking at the measurements of the legs, I decided on the 34. Either way, I hope they got shipped out today so I can end the size guessing game
