Hello there Beatle Buster/Iron Heart lubbers! Just bought myself a pair of these handsome, handsome jeans online and will be waiting anxiously for the Postman over the next 2-5 days. Anyway as i'm a relative newcomer to the world of raw denim (one pair of Imperial Shearers to my name - unsoaked but looking beautiful after two years of wear) i've a question that you might be able to help me out with and that question is…..do i need to soak these?

I understand that soaking them softens them up but is there a need to do this? If so then why?

And just one more question - if i do soak them then how do i do this? Warm water? Cold water? Lukewarm water?

Your help would be most appreciated! Many thanks.... 😉

@fergz- they're unsanforized so you do have to soak but it really depends how they fit PREsoak. if they're a little tight… cold soak. but if you have room, hot soak. if you do end up hot soaking them, you don't have to boil water! you'll kill the leather patch that way. just turn your faucet/bathtub as hot as it'll allow

Just got the delivery today and they are soaked and almost dry.  The waist and thighs are good, but I think I need to get a little more off the inseam.  This completes the Beatle Buster trifecta for me:  B01s, SBGs and Raw.  I can only assume that I'll end up the ODs at some point.  The BB cut works well for me:  ample ass and skinny legs.

Not that great of a picture, but what do you guys think? 5 months and 11 days, 1 cold soak.

^ my 01s in size 29. Can't really tell from the pic, but they were skin tight in the thighs so I had to get rid of them (unfortunately).

Question is, if I go for a 29 in the raws, will I get that bit of extra room I need, or will they shrink to the same dimensions?

I got my first iron hearts!

This might sound like a very stupid question but…
I soaked them on saturday and since then they have felt very hairy, how long will this last and are they supposed to?
I ask this as I dried them on the radiator rather than hanging them up somewhere to let the air get to them despite remembering that this was the the advice given somewhere.
I hope its just down to the cotton in the jeans.
I'll give some comparison shots to the other kinds of denim IH sell (i got hemming scraps from Giles) for good and quick answers!!

The 18oz raw denim is designed to be hairy and slubby, that is why they fade with such great contrast.  The hairiness will disappear with abuse….

I would love a pair of Beatle Busters either in 18 oz. or 21 oz.  My only concern is that i really cant have an inseam any shorter than 35". I just bought a pair of DC4001's in size 31 and they are a perfect fit with about a 36" inseam. They are perfect in the waist right now too and I'm hoping they dont stretch much (I think my true waist size is 32 but i seem to be able to wear 31 sometimes). Anyone have advice on whether they think I would be able to wear the BB's considering the shorter inseam. And also size 29 or 30 in raws? and size 31 or 32 in 21 oz? (I have scrawny legs)
