happy new year Ron!!
-
So Monday was the first day of the Chinese New Year. Most of us wake up rather early that day and head out for the usual visiting to relatives' houses.
These are Mandarin Oranges, and to every house that we visit, we need to bring along and offer 2 oranges to the head of the family. He/she will then give another pair of oranges to you, together with a red packet. This is just one of the many customs that we Chinese follow strictly during the CNY celebrations.
My pair of mandarin oranges.
We went to the temple to morning to wish and to pray for good luck & health for the rest of the year.
Some people even believe that if you are first person to offer a joss stick (12am), you would be in the best of luck. Well, I did not try that haha.
A Big Bell in the Temple.
RAWs.
WAYWT Day 1. Random chambray shirt from Bangkok. 634S-RAW, Vans.
After the visiting to the temple, we headed to my uncle's place to have lunch. The same usual dish every year. And from I know, each dish signifies something good for the family.
And the same usual snacks.
Another practice in CNY. To Gamble! We normally play blackjack or some home invented cardgames haha. Gambling is probably my fav practice in CNYDay 1 was pretty busy and we basically travelled the whole of Singapore from houses to houses. But for the sake of the red packets, anybody would do that hahaha. Day 2 was less busy compared to the first, we only had a few houses to visit.
RAWs.
WAYWT Day 2. Shirt from GAP. 634S-RAW. Red Wings. In the evening, I went to my best friend's house, and his mom offered me this super-awesome soup dish. We call it "Buddha jumps over the wall", but obviously, it has nothing to do with the Buddha, or Buddhism. Duh, it's not even vegetarian haha..
Abalone, Scallops, and Mushrooms. It tasted so good that I wish I could have another bowl.Ok, this is generally what happens over here for CNY. Most of us would be tired, sleepy, and sometimes poorer from the gambling, but what makes everyone happy is the chance to get together with friends and relatives, and endless supply of good food haha. Happy Chinese New Year everyone!!

So I celebrated my birthday one day before the actual, which was today. Went to Marina Bay Sands together with my girlfriend some shopping, and a nice dinner.
The weather was pretty good today. And super windy, so we decided to take a stroll outdoors since it's too early for dinner.

My Dessert Plate. The strawberries from Korea are really very sweet, I went back for more!Pretty happy with the food, and would definitely go back again! That's it for today. I would probably wash the coasters tomorrow, and do the last update about the IH party when I would be handing them over back to Giles.
I hope I have given some good updates to this thread!

So my leg for the Coaster WT ended today (or is it the end of the whole tour?). Well, in a good way. This end is the start of IH's chapter in Singapore!
I start to feel that Iron Heart is not just about jeans, and clothes. Iron Heart is about this whole community which feels like a big family, and I'm really glad that I had came to know about this forum, and all the people here. I've also got to know many cool folks on indigoroots.com. I hope to know and meet more people from this lovely board, and of course to wear more IH gears in the near future!
I LOVE YOU GUYS! IRON HEART FOR LIFE!!!
