    @Giles:

    @ronaldlsh:

Giles, the best BBQ stingray I've eaten was also in Malaysia. And cheap..

A friend of mine used to run a fish farm in Malaysia.  I went up for a couple of days from Singapore and took USD45 with me.  There were 2 of us, I paid for all the meals, all the booze and a hotel room, I came back with change…......

thats refreshing, not like here around…

On Chinese New Year's eve yesterday, we decided to get up early and go for a good breakfast. We went to to this place call "Hatched" which everyone was talking about their egg dishes, and their "Breakfast-all-day" menu.

Interesting, they decided to call their menu the "Catalog of Eggs".

                          Coaster Shot.

I decided to have Scrambled Egg.

My Scrambled Egg with Chorizo Sausage.

                          Eggs Benedict with Smoked Salmon.

                          Eggs Benedict Classic.

Baked Eggs with Cheese and Mushroom.

                          Ice Tea.

                          The Add-ons.

Love the place, the eggs, and the sausages. Definitely a good reason to wake up early!

Yesterday was the eve of Chinese New Year, and I went to my uncle's place to have a simple gathering. And I was lucky enough to receive a couple of Red Packets (we call it Ang Pao) already. More to come on the actual day!

Here is a shot! Looks like I'm getting rich for more IH stuff!

After the dinner, we went back home, and we started to get ready for CNY. We started preparing the snacks, candies, and nuts. Placed them in the cute little containers to make them look good.

                            A huge mess!

                            Chocolate Coins!

                            And DONE!

                            Version 1

                            Version 2

                            Coaster Shot.

Finally, all done and ready for CNY!!

So Monday was the first day of the Chinese New Year. Most of us wake up rather early that day and head out for the usual visiting to relatives' houses.

These are Mandarin Oranges, and to every house that we visit, we need to bring along and offer 2 oranges to the head of the family. He/she will then give another pair of oranges to you, together with a red packet. This is just one of the many customs that we Chinese follow strictly during the CNY celebrations.

                                    My pair of mandarin oranges.

We went to the temple to morning to wish and to pray for good luck & health for the rest of the year.

Some people even believe that if you are first person to offer a joss stick (12am), you would be in the best of luck. Well, I did not try that haha.

A Big Bell in the Temple.

                                    RAWs.

WAYWT Day 1. Random chambray shirt from Bangkok. 634S-RAW, Vans.

After the visiting to the temple, we headed to my uncle's place to have lunch. The same usual dish every year. And from I know, each dish signifies something good for the family.

                                    And the same usual snacks.

Another practice in CNY. To Gamble! We normally play blackjack or some home invented cardgames haha. Gambling is probably my fav practice in CNY  😘

Day 1 was pretty busy and we basically travelled the whole of Singapore from houses to houses. But for the sake of the red packets, anybody would do that hahaha. Day 2 was less busy compared to the first, we only had a few houses to visit.

                                    RAWs.

WAYWT Day 2. Shirt from GAP. 634S-RAW. Red Wings.

In the evening, I went to my best friend's house, and his mom offered me this super-awesome soup dish. We call it "Buddha jumps over the wall", but obviously, it has nothing to do with the Buddha, or Buddhism. Duh, it's not even vegetarian haha..

Abalone, Scallops, and Mushrooms. It tasted so good that I wish I could have another bowl.

Ok, this is generally what happens over here for CNY. Most of us would be tired, sleepy, and sometimes poorer from the gambling, but what makes everyone happy is the chance to get together with friends and relatives, and endless supply of good food haha. Happy Chinese New Year everyone!!

So I celebrated my birthday one day before the actual, which was today. Went to Marina Bay Sands together with my girlfriend some shopping, and a nice dinner.

The weather was pretty good today. And super windy, so we decided to take a stroll outdoors since it's too early for dinner.

                                      Olympic Walk

                                      Beautiful Sky!!!

Lighting was good, so decided to do a WAYWT. Excuse me for the hair, the wind was strong!!!

                                      IH Tee, 634S-RAW, White's

                                      Coaster Shot.

                                      And then we headed indoors.

We decided to have our dinner at this restaurants operated by Koreans, call TODAI. They offer International Buffet, and their selection of food is pretty awesome.

                                      Cold Snow Crabs.

A selection of many clams, and shellfishes.

                                      Freshly cut sashimi.

                                      Pasta.

                                      Dessert.

There are many many others, but I kind of "forgot" because I was hungry, and needed to grab something to eat.

                                      Myfirst serving.

My Dessert Plate. The strawberries from Korea are really very sweet, I went back for more!

Pretty happy with the food, and would definitely go back again! That's it for today. I would probably wash the coasters tomorrow, and do the last update about the IH party when I would be handing them over back to Giles.

I hope I have given some good updates to this thread!
