      I thought they were gonna be it. Hell, I don t know. Might put them back in. I guess it really just depends on what I'm wearing.

        @mankarat:

        i'm 10.5 US in Red wing beckman. What size should i get on this one?

        @Giles:

        9.5

        I'm a size 10.5US in Red Wing 875/877

        I'm a size 11US in every other shoe I own.

        Forgive me, I'm about to skull bang a dead horse here but, about the sizing of the IHV-01 compared to Red Wings (just for size reference)… The 875 Red Wing Boot is slightly oversized so I take a 10.5US instead of my usual 11US. However, I'm not sure how the Beckman fits in relation to the 875 model. Is the Beckman (referred to in the above quote) oversized just like the Red Wing 875? Are all Red Wings oversized?  If so, then I would need a 9.5 UK (10.5 US) in the Viberg SB just like Mankarat would.  And there is a 9.5 available.  🙂  But if the Beckman he's referring to fits TTS and Mankarat normally takes a 10.5US in most shoes, then I would need to get a size 10 UK (11 US) in these.  And there's no size 10 available.  😞  I wonder if the 9.5 will work. I'm almost too embarassed to post this neurotic rambling… I really want these boots.

          i wear a size US 10 D / 28 CM Red Wing Iron Ranger. i emailed viberg for their recommendation on what size to purchase for an IHV-03.

          i was told that their sizing is more or less similar. they recommended me to take the same size, which i did.

          I guess that is a UK 9.5.

            Anticipating your fit review on the ihv-01 size 9.5 Freeman. We have the same feet. If the 9.5 sell out after you confirm that they fit, I will know that it was never meant to be..  😢

              KC, if you are a 10 US would that not make you a 9uk? Sounds like you found out that you should actually get a 9.5uk… I thought it was a full size down. Goddamn I'm confused! I'm a 10.5us in red wing 875's. So should I get a 10uk?!? I'm going to fuck this up for sure.  I should just buy some Jordans... in a size 11.  😠

                Some online charts say there is a full size delta between US and UK sizes, some say the delta is 1/2 a size.  My experience is that whilst I normally take a 10 E in US sizing, I can comfortably get into a 9.5 in Viberg (I can do a 9 but it is a squeeze)….

                  yeah i was confuse on whether to go 1/2 or 1 size down too, which is why i dropped them an email. i measured my feet on the red wing measurement scale. technically, i should be getting a 10.5 D in most red wings boots. however, I went 1/2 a size down for my iron ranger as I was told it tends to run a tad larger compared to their other boots due to the cutting. it worked out fine for me. i am pretty sure a 9.5 viberg would suit you fine. if you're still unsure,  i guess you could simply just measure your feet, and size accordingly. http://www.shoesfaq.co.uk/measure.htm

                    yeah, this boots is simply beautiful. i'd pull the trigger for the last 9.5, if i wasn't already buying a IHV-03. can't justify buying two pair! someone should grab the last pair of 9.5 asap!

                      Don't tempt me…unfortunately, I cannot justify the expenditure at the moment. If it sticks around until the spring–which I doubt--and is magically $150 less expensive, I'll snatch. 😑

                        haha, i know what you mean mate. i doubt it would stick around long either, and unless there's a sale..i don't think the price is gonna drop!

                              Good to know. Whereabouts do you live? Can these withstand snow and, with the right protection and maintenance, salt?

                                i travel back and forth between australia and singapore. mostly in australia. i always spray it over my boots before i head out. not too sure about snow! but, my boots have been through plenty of storms and a couple of hail. still in great condition. liquid just glides off the surface of the leather due to the silicon coating.

                                  Alden Jcrew Indy sz8.5 vs. IHV-01 sz9

                                  Since there are a lot of people wondering about how to size in these things, I hope this helps a bit. But honestly, everyone's feet are different and for me a lot has to do with sock thickness/how tight or loose I tie my laces.

                                  I was measured at Alden in NYC and my size in Alden Indys are a comfortable 8.5E (I can wear thick socks). I can wear Alden Indys sz8.5D with thin socks only. The Vibergs are wider than the Aldens and roomier in the toe box. I prefer to wear thick socks and tie the laces pretty tight while wearing the Vibergs. I guess the Vibergs in 8.5E would fit 10% better, but I'm just being picky.

                                  I tried on Red Wing Gentlemen Travelers sz 9 yesterday just to see the differences with the Vibergs.
                                  The RW heel is wider and the width is more narrow. The length seemed to be about the same.
                                  After I felt the quality of those RW's in particular, I laughed at the salesmen when he asked me if I wanted to buy them. There was really no comparison. Viberg obviously was far superior. Now, don't get me wrong, some of the other RW's felt pretty solid and well crafted. I think a 9E would of fit me best.

                                  Anyways, I hope this doesn't make it more complicated.

                                    so you tried on a product at a store.. then a salesman asked if you would like to buy said item.. and you laughed at him?

                                    I'm assuming that statement is more of a hyperbole?

                                        He laughed too. It was in jest. He actually said,"really, almost everyone that looks like you buys these around here, haha."

                                        Also, he agreed with me the quality of that particular Red Wing Model was not very high, especially when he fondled my Vibergs.
