Just read the washing guide that has been posted, which is excellant, but there is no mention of how to care for the Melton wool shirts. Do I just treat it like a flannel or should I be more careful?

What's the general consensus around here concerning Gloverall's traditional duffle coat?

I loved my vintage one I sold a few months ago. Heavy as shit, but very warm. Just wasn't functional enough for me and took up too much space.

Dry clean, spot clean, or hand wash and dry by hand with a towel. Wool will shrink beyond recognition. Do NOT treat like flannel.

Thanks Lando, I think I'll dry clean then when required.

That is what I do. If cost is an issue you can always spot clean them and or hand wash. I have also asked G to update the Product Care Guidelines with a Wool section. Cheers

Just noticed this at work whilst filling the Wetrok (http://www.we-reiniging.nl/files/Image/Reinigingsmachines%20gebruikt/Wetrok1.JPG)…

I tried burning the snapped hem and bedding it into the hem but it apparently hasn't worked… Should I get these repaired asap, or any other tricks to enable me to wear them without causing any further damage?..

                        Cheers.

Ok…just, bear with me for a bit. What's everyone's opinion with respect to these UGG boots?: http://l3.zassets.com/images/z/1/1/6/1168582-p-DETAILED.jpg

I know, I know…they're UGG's, but it's tough to find an exceptionally warm winter boot that is intended to be walked in. I won't be offended, so feel free to go ahead and tell me to fuck off if need be…

don't like the shape, but on the other hand "exceptionally warm winter boot that is intended to be walked in" is probably not so easy. What's with stuff like this http://www.sorel.com/winter-boots/men,default,sc.html

Yeah, see, I'm a good ol' Canadian boy and would like to support Sorel and their endeavours. However, in several reviews I've read that after minimal wear bits of the plastic found around the bottom contours of the boot begins to separate and ultimately unravel. (Not my idea of money well spent.)

I'm wondering if I would be better to buy some Danner's and just invest in a supply of heavy-duty Wigwam socks.

a guy I know bought the Caribou Reserve for whatever reason, since in my part of Germany snow mostlly is nothing more as a day guest, if at all and is very satisfied. But right, if there are quality issue I wouldn't invest, or just get a pair of the bay for cheap..

No idea what snow levels and how cold it get in your area, but some Gore Tex trekking boots and winter socks is also something to consider

great if you get the American made ones, the low ends are made in China.
