i think the Strike Gold folks should be on your radar as the items i've purchased from them (jeans & a shirt) have been on par with the items I've bought from the more established brands from the East (Flat Head & of course Iron Heart)

Thing with the Strike Gold jeans, from the measurements I saw, the rise is too low for my taste or if the rise is ok, the cut is too full for me. Otherwise I'd tried 'em out already

I like my SG1101 overall, but the rise is definitely an issue. It's getting like a wedgie when putting them on. Another inch or a bit more and they'd be perfect. The SE measurements on a 31 say the rise is only .1 less than the 666S, but that hasn't been my experience.

Coming along nicely there.
I got a pair of SG2109 a few months ago but the fit wasn't quite what I wanted in the thighs so I sent them back. A shame, because the denim was amazing.
Thanks, and agreed on the denim. Between the slubbyness and that golden brown from the mud dyed threads poking through, the denim has tons of character.
This brand is on my radar… I'm sure I mentioned it before, but people selling 2ndhand pairs on here isn't helping...

You should definitely keep this brand on your radar. The denim and detailing on my 2109s is awesome and the construction is solid. Plus, the arches do look pretty sweet! My only real complaint with the jeans is that the rise is a little lower than I'd like, but other than that I love everything about them.
The sweatshirt I have is also fantastic. Solid construction on that too, and it holds in heat like no other.

I also think the Strike Gold pocket stitching looks pretty cool (although I'm more a fan of the completely plain pocket style).
Actually it would be interesting to see what brands have the most popular pocket stitching - perhaps somewhere else on this forum someone has already started this up this debate? (just for fun, of course).

Never really liked the Strike Gold arcs. My personal favorites are the stripes on the Momotaro GTB series.
Let's see, right off the top of my head- Oni is ok, not great; SdA looks like it was done by a six year old; Samurai is ok, though clearly pushing the limit on how close to Levis they can get without getting sued again; Evisu is good; Imperial is a tad excessive, but not bad; Triple Works is pretty good; and of course, Iron Heart is excellent.

I think th Strike Gold is a currently very underestimated brand… Not for long though, me thinks!..
Seul care to explain why you think this? SE pushes them HARD.

Yeah they do - but I'm not on SuFu except for the IH, FH and Samurai thread… Anyhow: I think it's a brand that will be loved by lotsa folks in the (near) future... And I'm definitely in the need of one of them pairs, cause it's a brand I'm truly excited about but have no first-hand experience... Anyone knowledgeable: if I want a high rise, slim legged, mid-weight (14-17 oz) pair, which'un should I look into?..
