      Really? I'm confused, isn't this the model with the drastic high rise?

        drastic high? I feel rather as if the other IH models are a bit too low rise (at least I feel more comfortable in 40s-50s repros). So I can understand jimmy.

          Yeah, the wording didn't seem right to me either, but it's what came out and it's what I went with. ha. I love how these fit from the thigh down. (Perfect, to be honest.) I just don't know if I could make that rise work.

            Yeah, I know. All bodyshapes are different, and I could not wear the DC4 due to the low rise - Chuck loves it.

              I also think the higher rise is more comfortable, especially when sitting and bending.  The waistband sits above the hips so when you bend and sit the waistband does not put preasure on your hip bone, at least for me thats the case.

              I love this IH 55 cut.

                You could do the highrise, just imagine all the combs you will get with the extra rise.

                  I am just old fashioned I guess. The 55 doesn't feel high to me just "what it should be".

                  I am back on my 634s and it feels really low. Will take some getting use to again.

                    ^same here. Switching from Momotaro 0905 and 710XX to 634 takes a while.

                          I also enjoy a higher rise but the 634s-raw is one of the few jeans with a big thigh/small waist ratio that fits my body type.
                          My 710s and beatle busters are sagged so my legs can fit.
                          Not that sagging is bad but IJ kicks my butt for it 🙂

                            i am intrigued by the 634S-raw fit your describing there Kit. i just assumed it was the same fit as the regular 634S

                                @Giles:

                                Well, the 634S is based loosely on a '66 cut, but there all sorts of subtle changes; size and placement of pockets etc.  Haraki may take a concept or design and modify it or Harakify it, but he does not get turned on by being given an existing pair of jeans and being asked to copy it.  That does not get his creative juices going - which is good.  having said that, I have had a lot of requests for a 55 cut in the 21oz selvedge and that compounded by a specific request from a retailer made me bite the bullet.

                                G, I was thinking… We know H does not like to do the whole repro thing.  I really like the high rise on these and the waist to thigh ratio.  Does H have any reason to do his very own high rise full straight cut or maybe a high rise straight cut?

                                  These are supposed to be at my house tomorrow. However, we have 5 or so inches of snow (12.5cm) and being in seattle, our city almost totally shuts down every other time there's snow and the governor of the state has declared a state of emergency. Wonder when they'll actually show up.

                                      hum hum, you know what super heavy only when you wear a 25oz pair of pants. I have both models. I wear the 25oz 634 almost everyday, but whenever I put on the 1955's, they feel so light all of a sudden.
