White's Boots
-
Generally between $390 - $800 depending on style, leather configuration, and options such as cap toes, celastic toe, lining, sole etc…
You can get an absolutely beautiful, custom made pair to your specific configuration for around $500. It's only when you start adding stupid things like Shark Leather that you stray into the reals of ridiculous pricing.

What's the general price point for White's please?
You can see how their various leathers and options change the price @ http://www.buildaboot.com/

A basic semi-dress boot starts around 390. if you use "twitter" code you get $12.00 off. There's more options if you customize a boot at bakershoe.com rather than buildaboot.com. I've spent many hours creating different make-ups.

Can any of you leather experts recommend me a high shine leather to use in contrast to a mainly bull hide Bounty Hunter?

Ok, I've done a lot of yapping over the last few pages, and not a lot of showing. These arrived to me today (again, new to me), I picked them up from nicecrackaction just before Christmas. This is my first experience of Smoke Jumpers, and I'm so impressed that it had bought me some thinking time on my custom order ….. or at least satisfied my blood lust for now.
Pics taken both with and without flash to give a balance of the true colour.

Cheers Rafa, the weird thing is that I have always thought that Smoke Jumpers look shit compared to SD's and Bounty Hunters for some reason, and now I know why. Smoke Jumpers are not a boot that pictures well, but in the flesh they are every bit as pretty as SD's, and I hope to find out soon about Bounty Hunters.

I think I can say that they're probably a boot you have to see in the flesh to appreciate.

Great pick-up, Mega! If one looks around rakuten one can find a lot of Japanese dudes pulling this style off. I'm sure you'll do the same.
I'm not a fan of the typical White's sole either, but I did some digging this week and played around on buildaboot.com and think I might actually like the Northwest with the much hated Vibram wedge sole…
