Man i've been wearing these pretty much exclusively since i got them except when i rotate in a pair of the 701s ocassionally… and my DC4 are still very much dark. I just gave them a wash in the machine inside out and the only halfway major fade ive got going on is the wallet fade... light lap/calf crease fades but that's it.

just thinking, the denim used in DC4001 is the 21 oz signature denim right? but why is it fade slower than any other 21oz signature models (634S,301S).. again, CMIIW..

Funny, I would have said exactly the opposite. My DC4001 bled blue at great speed leaving me with smurf hands all the times for about 6 weeks. With the 634s I hardly see any colour loss on shirts etc. I even started to wear white shirts tucked in the 634s because they do not bleed.
I guess it just depends on the production run and the way the indigo got into the jeans. Each pair or batch is different.

              Hippo, absolutely spot on.

On a related point, difference in the temperature and humidity in the mill will make the shuttle looms behave differently as will the time duration since the last service.  All of these factors (and more) will make each batch of fabric different….

I should probably post this in the IH product ideas thread. Well my idea involves the dc 4001 patch so here it goes.  I'm actually in the market for a new bible cover and I'm thinking a 21 oz denim bible/holy Koran/whatever the fuck book cover would be the shit for us churchgoers. And this patch would be PERFECT on the front!  Or even the 666s patch would be a cool option for a touch of irony or for legitimate devil worshipers.  God, that would be cool!

ahh..should have explained meself a bit better. I get the patch part. It's the whole bible-churchgoing thing. I guess it's geo-cultural thing.

I wish I didn't have this desire to sound cute or witty with every post.  I annoy myself.  But I really do carry this big bible to and from church twice a week and I really am looking for a bible cover/carrier. After searching for a high quality leather one, all I found were cheap ass nylon or pleather bullshit with "Jesus is my homeboy" written on it.  Then it hit me that I would absolutely love an Iron Heart book carrier for my bible in 21oz denim or 16oz duck with THIS dc4001 patch dead center.  Aside from my personal desire for one, "church stuff" is big business and it would sell like crazy!  Lots of Jesus people.  Probably wouldn't work with the Iron Heart brand cause "bible cover" sounds WAY too religious. Maybe even offensive to some.  Just the wrong market I guess.  But "book cover"…  I'll stop talking about this now.  Stupid idea.  This should be in a different thread.  Is there a thread for self indulgent rambling somewhere? Sorry to derail.

like this, an Iron Heart denim book cover, it's not a bad idea, but that's basically the definition of jumping the shark, which I'd rather not see from IH
