I love mine.  The heels are just fine after a year.

Mine also started falling apart. They are Darbys – the Originals may be more solid.

Did you order yours online? I got mine from Halls KC and they were the only pair left in the whole city, apparently.

My first pair had a heel come loose shortly after buying them.
Wolverine replaced them and paid all my shipping after I explained the problem, had my second pair for almost a year now and they get the shit kicked out of them and are in great condition. Should get some pictures.

No I moved away in '98 but I make it back once or twice a year to visit family and usually bring a shopping list of stuff that is either hard to find or overpriced in Japan.

I work in an office, so I have walked to the bus, and from the bus for 3 months.. 🙂 plus two weeks of walking on cobblestones on vacation in Scotland. I guess I got a pair that got trough quality control.

Ah! Glad there is a topic about the 1000 miles!

Got mine about three months ago. The Horween leather is great, nice fit of the boots. Definitely more comfortable than the equivalent Redwing that I tried in the shop.
                BUT:
as said herein, the heels are not tightly fixed to the sole and they are getting a bit loose. Now, we are talking of a movement of 0,5 to 1 mm, but I do not know how it will evolve.
My biggest concern was the bad finish of the heels overall. With a good shoe laid on the floor the heels should lay perfectly flat. I checked in the shops for all Wolverine shoes and they all have the same problem that the heels tend to rest on the heel breast.
As I usually do with leather soles I brought it to a cobbler to get nice gum soles, better for rain and snow, and he said that the boots are great but that at the price one pays for it (400€), this non standing heel is to cite him: "eine Frechheit" meaning a cheek. He cut the heel breast so that now the boots are perfectly standing and the comfort is great.

My one comment here: either you just care about fashion and the look, so that you go for it and get in pain after a while or if you want a real good fit, buy the boots knowing you almost surely will have to bring them to a cobbler who knows his job… or buy a different brand...

The CXL leather is great and these are really comfortable with no real break-in period required.  I've already had mine resoled once and plan on wearing them for many, many years.

Good to see a Wolverine 1000 mile thread.  🙂

Here are my pair, approximately 2 months light wear.

                    The Good  😉 :
                    . They look amazing
. OMG they smell sooo good ( Ok weird, I know! )
. As comfy as slippers from the start, except for the heal area (see below).

                    The Bad  😞 :
. The sole seems to be really soft! Check out the wear on the tip of the toe after no more than 10 days wear.
. There are large lumps in the heal area where the vamp joins the sole, not comfortable and not good on a shoe of this cost!

                    The Ugly  😢 :

. Man made lining - seriously, on $300 shoes! Also, check out the way its been badly stitched to the tongue, nasty.
. Construction faults would never get through quality control on a British made pair of shoes.

Despite the issues, still great shoes, worth buying at sale prices.

Far less. The stitching on the back of the heel, fastening the upper to the sole, is also coming lose.

The upside is, these cost more than 500 USD here in Norway, so I can get my money back and get a pair of black white's semi dress with medallion cap toe for not much inbetween.

Seize the day and don't you cry.

Total bullshit, get your money back or tell wolverine their shitty product failed and demand a good one (The replacements seem to be ok imo )

                                Wow lucifer! These look bad.

Mine are not that far, I guess because I gave them straight from the shop to a cobbler. But I can see them getting a bit loose at the heels.
I would definitely not buy Wolverine again and can not recommend people to get a pair. At 400€ one could expect more. Even though the leather is amazing, you can find Horween somewhere else…

500usd? Thatis pretty ridiculous. I got my white's in horween chromexcel leather for only 399usd..

It's best that u inform wolverines about their shitty shoes, and demand a way to resolve the problem man..

Got mine for ~250 a few years ago at a local store named Halls.  Definitely worth that price but not 400-500!

Yeah, only paid $220 AUD for mine about a year and a half ago, replaced the first pair and got a second pair that are going strong, mostly wanted to sample the chromexcel before I invested in a pair of vibergs in the same leather. That being said they are still the most comfortable boots I've owned.
