What do/did you do for a living?

I am a TV freelancer with a bias towards combustion engines.
Despite all the technical stuff involved, I still get a kick out of getting to know people behind cars and technology. As I used to say: The tech talk is just a key to other peoples mind. It's simply amazing what kind of people you meet who dedicate their life to cars - be it as a collector of classic cars or as a tuning kid who spends its apprentice money on some weird gadgets for a run-down Volkswagen Golf Mark 2.
So it's not about TV and cars - it's about people!

My glamorous career is as a supervisor in an electronics factory, making parts for military and civil use ( missiles, satellites, aeroplanes etc…).

Spent the past 15 years working in retail, most of which in the retail book trade. For the last 7 or so as a head office Fiction buyer. I took redundancy in August though when they decided to move my job down to London. Best thing that's happened to me in a long while! Freelancing at the moment and looking to go into the editorial side of things.

I've been doing retouching in NYC for 4 years. I shoot some and assist as well, 90% of the time its fashion. I love my job, it has it's perks.

Ha! your telling me. I would love to sell the stuff in my store but I don't think there is a big enough market for it in Toronto to turn over the product often enough. The price points are too high for most of the customers that come in for clothing. We are slowly raising the level of the brands we carry with the introduction of 3sixteen, Oliver Spencer, Filson bags and whatnot but it is a gradual process.
Where's your shop at? I want to go to it while I'm in Toronto this weekend.

I'm not sure I've answered this. I probably have.
Clinical Therapist, focusing primarily on children and adolescents with emotional and behavioral problems. Usually my clients have experienced significant trauma and have difficulty coping with emotions, both good and bad. They act out in a number of ways, violently often. Sometimes directed inwardly.
I spend a lot of time in homes and communities, experiencing both the inspirational and tragic.
I'd like to think I'm good at my job and help people make their own change.
It's pretty fucking awesome most of the time.

Tax accountant, …I work for the devil (a.k.a. a Top-30 hedge fund). Generally, I handle all things great and small at our firm since every thing has some sort of tax attached to it. Tax folks are the usually the last piece in the financial reporting puzzle and, as such, we have to sort out all the issues others didn't bother to sort out. It's a high stress environment (and needless to say, the material's quite dry); but it does put bacon on the table and IH on my legs when I'm not at the office.
