I've kind of taken this suggestion on board, in reverse. As I usually carry a duffle or backpack with me, I have purchased a back-up North Face shell jacket, which I can carry in case of rain

Can't stop staring at the pictures of the production version. I've been offered a MF Deck jacket at basically half price ($450), but this just looks so good

sure to be warm no matter what you are doing.  curious to see the sleeve details once it lands.  i hope as much consideration was taken on it as it seems was taken on the rest of this beauty.

That video is incredible, but I work with a lot of scientist type guys ( they're into resins and stuff) who have pointed out some spray treatments which will achieve what I need.

These pictures just make me more excited…..going to lay down for a bit.

so happy you mentioned the sprays.  i just figured some of your purists for all things done the old way would frown on that approach.

I'm buying this as my winter coat, and it will be on my back every day until it gets too warm, no room to be a purist here this is a functional item.

Mega, I ordered some Barbour wax today and I am going to try with my BR, if it turns out ok then you could do the same with the IH deck jacket.

The outer fabric is a bit different but I dont think this should be a big deal.
