you put it on any & everything that lives in or near water 

i think if a chicken or a cow lived near a stream i would find an excuse to put it on them.  it has a kind of spice to it but not overbearing where you can not taste your food.  i hate when items are seasoned to the point where you can't appreciate what you are eating.  i don't like bland food, but i would like to taste the steak/fish/chicken.

i left pigs out on purpose since i'm sure seul is around here somewhere

i like to steam the crabs in cheap malt liquor & old bay, TRUE STORY.

This is really boring and sad, but I made my first burger from scratch last week rather than buying one from the supermarket or butchers. Really embarrassing to admit,  but I'd never bothered before.

I found this site and it got me a bit obsessed:

I'm a pedant when it comes to home made burgers.

My recipe.

Skirt of beef, very finely chopped.  Shaped into burger shape.  No additions.

Fast fried until done to your degree of rawness.

Salt and pepper added post-fry to taste.

Pure heaven.

Giles - I'm going to try that! I'm actually going to buy a grinder at the weekend so I can grind my own beef. I nearly typed 'meat', rather than 'beef' but remembered where I was an thought it was too easy a joke…

Before I read all over that site, I didn't even know adding in salt before cooking (especially in, rather than on the burger), is really bad for the end result.

You will find the result better if you finely chop with a knife…..

A grinder is useful and I use one to grind beef/lamb for cottage/shepherds pie & lasagne etc, but for something like a burger you want decent surface area to the bits of meat.  A grinder tends to "modge" the meat together…...
