It is with a very heavy heart that I post this

I am heartbroken to have to tell you that George passed away in his sleep on Saturday morning

We brought him to his proper home a couple of weeks ago where I think he needed to be. The cancer took a terrible toll on him but he stayed exactly as he always was. He never once complained, and even stopped all medicines saying they were pointless at that stage.

He spoke about you often and regretted never meeting you. I think he quite admired you and I know he loved the forum.

A little while ago he showed me something he was doing for the forum art section? I will try to send this to you when I can.

The funeral is on Thursday and will be a very quiet affair – his preference is for no flowers or cards.

Thank you for being such a lovely part of his life.

Knowing that you don´t have to suffer anymore is the only thing I know will get your family and all your friends through the days to come.

I am still in shock and so sad , I so wish I´d been able to meet you in person. My condolences to your family and everyone who loved you and will miss you. You will forever leave a gap in our lives - but I will hope we can honour you and our memories of you in a way you would have wanted us to - with lots of smiles and laughter and honest thoughts.

some people you never meet but through their words & actions you get a very real sense of who they are and what they are about.  Geo is one of those special people.  although he was not flashy he always glowed & his sense of humor & direct approach will be missed & never forgotten.  i'm sad you have left us but glad your struggles are over.

Oh no. I felt this was coming but that doesn't lessen the shock. What can I say George. Never met you either but a connection was made and i'm so pleased for that. Your humanity was there for all too see/feel…a rare gift indeed. My thoughts go out to those you left behind as i'm sure the gap you've left in their lives is so great.
