when things settle down a bit at the castle can a controlled experiment be done on some Iron Heart patches comparing the effects of mustang paste, obenaufs lp,  & obenaufs - lo.  i know from personal use that the obenaufs lp cause the leather to get an almost reddish/orange hue to it.  what does the obenaufs lp & the mustang paste do?

that's all for the moment  😠

patch- i would just like to see how they darken the leather and the colour/hue it changes to

if you could just soak in soapy hot water, not madmonday hot just normal hot. let them dry then rub the crap out of them with each product….... not very scientific but would give us a good idea?

My random question- i am looking in to a more global friendly delivery company that can do small individual items. tossing up with the usual 3 DHL, UPS and FedEx. any comments on the matter? which is good, crap, had a crappy service from etc etc

why can't more companies do belt loop placement the way 3sixteen does?  i love the way they do belt loops, holds up your jeans & looks great doing it.

i know i'm odd, but it is just a really great design.

my favorite feature of 3sixteen jeans, the placement of the belt loops & the way they are sewn in

pure class & much less crack

we agree to disagree on this one G$

what is with the love of the heavier weight denim?  i know it's funny hearing that coming from an Iron Heart junkie like myself.  . . but still.

i can see for myself i am a quality & design junkie.  that is why i am disappointed with so many non Iron Heart purchases, the weight of the denim & the way they are able to make it so comfortable & breathable is just art to me  😠

It's probably just the mindset of this forum. It's like going to an Apple Store and looking for a PC nerd.

Although I've never handled a pair, the heavy weight denim of other brands (sammies, pbj, whatever) do not appeal to me at all. 18-19oz seems to be the threshold, and after that the other brands just add weight for weight's sake. Wearability and functionality are an after thought. I think Haraki approaches the problem from the opposite side, with functionality as the priority.

Just my observation, and pure speculation.

I asked Haraki once, what he thought of the Sammy 21oz denim.  He gave me a withering look and said "I dont care, I dont play the heavy ounce game, I design for function and the weight follows from that".

Admittedly, I derailed that with the 25oz, but again this is a denim that has been designed from the ground up, it is not just the 21oz with a bulkier weft…
