Oak Street Bootmakers

Trust me, size down at least a half size…
I could go down a whole size and still fit..
Agreed.

Sadly missed out on the Loden order… any word on some pictures to dry my eyes?
-
Well, I really did not expect that they would break so fast, especially after I wore them not really that often.
Anyone who maybe has the same problem? Should contact George? -
What's the deal on these?
Alright men,
Here is a photo to show how the leather compares in color to our current navy and brown chromexcel.I so excited to make these for you guys. This Loden Green Chamois isn't a standard leather for Oak Street or for Horween - it's a special order that we've done just for the forum members. I know you guys want something special and different from the usual offerings and the chamois is a perfect way to set these shoes apart. Chamois is a neubuck, and for this run i've decided to oil it to make it a little darker and to strengthen it. This is a leather that will look uneblievable with wear. It'll scuff up and get a great rough track to it over time while still molding to your foot and being super soft.
This is my favorite Oak Street shoe already, and I think we're only going to make 19 pairs for you guys - because I'm gonna make a pair for myself
Also - I'll personally lightly burnish each pair and box them up for you. Can't wait to make these for you all, and start seeing the worn photos here in this thread

I spoke with Maggie on 9/9, she told me about three more weeks, just had these on the doorstep waiting for me this morning to ease the wait

monkey definitely tell George about it. an unhappy customer not contacting is a retailers worse nightmare.
I sent him a mail and he already answered me. George said that this should be only a very minor repair and that I could take the shoes to a local cobbler or sent them to him. I’m going to try a local cobbler because it would cost way more time to send the shoes from Germany to the USA. I’m also pretty sure that the German customs would be a pain in the ass again. (I paid over 60€ in custom dues for the shoes…)

And George with the quickness:
Hey!
Yeah, don't sweat the vibram sole coming off or anything - it wont! That slight separation just can't be helped - it'll never come off though. If you ever feel like it, you could ask a local cobbler touch the spot upThanks Eli!
-GeorgeIs what I thought… Doing absolutely fuck all to it.

i know this is the oakie thread & all but i have to say if you ever order anything from these good folks you should order the horse hairbrush (can't speak on the shoe cream since i haven't used it yet) the brush is beefy to say the least & I will not name the other company (starts with an Al & ends with a den) charges up to about $38.00 for a similar product that i highly doubt is better than the beast (that's what I named her).
will try to get a picture up later
