RE: WHAT ARE YOU DOING TODAY (PICS)
Got legally married back in January, but just now exchanged rings with family and friends. Our friends made a really cool ceremony where they asked guests to write hopes and wishes on paper, which then were burned with a zippo that Chicken delivered, and then we covered our ring fingers in the ashes before the rings went on. We did the party at my wife's mom's house in the countryside, ate traditional ham cooked in hay and bread, I sang the old American folk song 'Been all around this world' to kick off the dance party under stretch tents with a view of the Valley de la Cère with two great DJ's, and couldn't help but notice all the smiles. Pretty grateful now.

RE: Runners
@Jcaz6996 sounds brutal dude. The blues from not being able to train due to injury can be intense. You’ll be better soon and back to it though. Hopefully doctor or physio will have some recommendations on how to avoid in the future, but injuries are a part of the game…

RE: Runners
I have a history of ankle instability @Alex partly from years of skateboarding as a teenager. Single leg calf raises are supposed to be the most effective physical training to strengthen the muscles around the ankle and add stability. Can be good to do all sorts of balance stuff too and lots of single leg variations on most leg strength exercises will help.
As for shoes the cool ones are Norda, then Hoka seems to have the largest market share at the moment, but lots of brands have good trail shoes. Ones with lower stack height midsoles and wider platforms on the outsoles will be more stable. Hoka speedgoat is a popular option. Satisfy have a trail shoe coming out soon called The Rocker that could be cool. The firmer insoles of Brooks can be good for stability too. -

@Graham Yeah I’ve been to Nowhere twice for tattoos from Adam Sage now. Nice place good vibes there. Is it Thomas that you have tattoos from there?

@seawolf I smile when running (and cycling) and see lots of other people doing it too
Like Andy Glaze says, ‘Smile or you’re doing it wrong’ -
RE: Runners
2nd place at a local trail 50km yesterday. Was fun to go out with the fast pack. At 4 miles or so the pack thinned and at 7 miles I was passed by two runners. Then passed again at mile 12. Managed to run my way back to second place on the last few hills.

RE: Anyone watching the Tour de France this year?
I'll watch. Was fortunate enough last year to have a mountain stage finish near where my wife's family lives in central France so got to ride to see the race in person at a secluded pass, managed to catch a few silly promo things from the caravan of sponsor novelty vehicles that pass before the peloton, and several teams stayed in the local village so got to get up close to their impressive bikes. There most memorable part of the day was seeing Pogacar and Vingegaard speed over the pass with intense concentration. Sadly no photo of that but it was too special to not fully take in in the moment.
