RE: Y'2 Leathers….
@nrtphotos such a good read! I had a similar feeling too. This is my first ever quality leather jacket so I had no preferences from before. But it was stiff and ridged for what I had ever felt from a leather jacket, but as you said it kind of quickly started to shape more and looked way better on the body.
I’m also a short/mid length guy, I’m 175cm = 5’9”
And this chore shirt even if it’s a “shorter” chore jacket, it’s one of my longest one. Usually buy shorter styles trucker jacket so it took some getting used too for me. But with a few days of wear I just fell for it. So now it’s easily one of my absolute favorite jackets!🤎
Yes he dit, I can share it here too for anyone curious what it looks like after like a week in the sun
Before (first day, directly after I took it out of the box)
After, almost exactly one week of wear.
And for anyone curious, i haven’t done anything to the jacket. No balm, leather care, moisturizer or anything. Just a lot of wear, sun sun sun and two days of rain exposure. Then just hang dried indoors until completely dry. And some more sun and wear

RE: Y'2 Leathers….
Wanted to share a little story about my Scar Kakishibu🤎
”Iv had a hard time posting this, I don’t know how to write and give this one justice, and my road for me to been able to obtain this. It’s a bit of a story.
It all began a few years ago when I found out about engineers boots and particularly Wesco boots. I like to learn, search and pretty much educate myself about stuff I’m interested in. So I look online, at pictures, reviews, videos, and asking people on instagram the dumbest question there is just because I love to learn. So hours of internet browsing I found myself looking at videos on YouTube. I quickly both found out about and realized TJ at the shop Vancouver was/is one big gem in this world. His dedication, professionalism and genuine personality showcasing the stuff he was personally invested is blew me away. I love creative people and passion in general. With a background in snowboard and developing, forming, and evolving into a motorcycle inspired heritage workwear business. I was hooked. TJ is the man! His knowledge, personality, and lovely character made me love him too! I knew I wanted to support him someway and someday own a piece I could love for years! Through TJ I then learned about Y2 Leather and their stuff. I quickly fell for them as a company, quality and the stuff they made! It was an art form! Quality, function, esthetically beautiful pieces of wearable art! And the dream was born! I needed one myself!
I early fell for the Kakishibu leather, I just loved the color of it. But my style has always been drawn to the slightly more workwear/chore coat inspired jackets. So in the back of my mind, I even in the beginning said to myself, that leather would been amazing in a workwear styled jacket. A few years passed, and one morning skrolling on my phone, my heart stopped.
TJ had teased about an upcoming collaboration piece with Y2 leather called the “chore shirt” in a rough out camel colorway. A jacket build on Y2 leather work shirt, but dressed with a chore jacket layout. It was the right layout, but in the wrong leather. I never stopped dreaming and thought if only the KB-140-T and the chore
Shirt could make a love child, it would be my absolute dream jacket. A chore shirt in a Kakishibu leather. Imagine the pure amazingness!
More time passed, and same as before, one morning waking up and scrolling on my phone. I had to sit up, I probably held my breath for a minute. Before bursting into excitement! There it was, I couldn’t believe my eyes! It was a chore shirt in a Kakishibu color. Also now lined with an added interior pocket. It was too good to be true! It just had to be mine!I had saved money for over 2 years, manifested the dream for real one year, and waited 7 months for my dream to be made into reality!
On the first released I missed out and was devastated. But on the 19 October 2024 I managed to buy a preorder slot for 2025 release. Out of just 10 preorders and 15 total jackets made. I remember holding my breath and waiting for the phone to buffer through the payment. Felt like the world stood still. And in a few seconds that felt like an eternity the payment went through! I could not believe it, I was awake alone in the middle of the night just for the occasion. I remember I couldn’t sleep that night because I was so happy. Filled with emotions and excitement I had finally managed to create this opportunity and make it into a reality! 7 months later, I opened the package and there it was, my dream! The Scar Kakishibu chore shirt in all its glory and it was mine! This is a jacket that means so much more to me than “just” being a jacket. It’s a dream, an accomplishment, a for ever piece maybe one of my kids get to inherit when they grow old enough. It’s a jacket I will wear with love and pride more than anyone could probably ever understand. It’s pricy yes, but worth every penny? oh hell yes! This is my dream! This is my jacket! And I’m damn proud of it! It’s a few pictures showing how it looks after some weeks of wear and sunbathing in the hot Swedish summer heat. Last pictures is to showcase how light the color was straight out of the box.
This became a smaller novel, but I feel like a text can’t give it justice for the meaning and how it actually feels in hand. Thanks TJ for being an absolute gem of a person! And thanks to Y2 leather for creating some of the most impressive pieces iv ever had the honor to experience. This will be loved for a long time, and I will wear it with pride!🤎”

RE: IHV-50-IND - 14oz Sashiko Dobby Cloth / Duck Work Vest - Indigo
Do people generally size up on this or do they fit similarly to your regular IH size?
I’m usually size a large in jackets and shirt. With often a chest measurement flat between 22-22.5”
But looking at these size charts a large has a 20,5” measured pit-to-pit.
So for me to compare to my regular shirt size I would have needed at least a size XL (21.6”) or XXL (22.4”)
For those that own one, What’s your take on the fit?

RE: Ship John
Left pictured is Mikes tease. Middle is just a plain black n white filter put on a regular Kristofferson jacket with my iPhones own options. No special effects or editing. You can see the difference between the shades of grey.
And that’s Mikes tease on the left, and a regular Levi’s black denim jacket with black Sherpa lining that I put the same black n white filter on with my iphone. Put them next to each other and there is a pretty big resemblance..
I know it’s no proof or any significant information on what it’s actually is, but it at least shows Mikes new lining is probably a lot darker then the old yellow mouton.
My gut feeling said black with black, and my curiosity and I think it’s actually rather fun to speculate. Like a fun little guessing game, so I had to try the old black n white filter myself -
RE: Ship John
If I just listen to my gut feeling, I would guess its black denim with black lining🫣
And if I would listen to my heart, I really would wish it’s a indigoXblack denim with same mouton yellow lining🥰

RE: Ship John
Too curious, I send them a question and asked.
Mike actually answered and was slightly cryptic with a short answer like he often does. That all details will be unveiled in time.
But for those hoping both the regular one and a new one will be produced, he unfortunately can burst that bubble.
He confirmed that just ONE version will be produced and it’s gonna be the new colorway. So a new one will be produced, the old will not come back as of now. If it will in the future, no one knows. He didn’t said anything about that. Just that the new colorway hasn’t been announced yet, and the old will not return with this release just the new colorway. And they will let everyone know when it’s ready.Still very curious what the new colorway will be
