Made it out to the LA shop about 10 minutes after opening. I had my eyes on the prize and was able to snag both items that I wanted; Indigo CPO and Indigo 633. The OD CPO looked and felt amazing, and it was hard to resist the temptation. Fortunately, they ran out of my size.

I figured some of you would like to see some shots of the CPO, so I took some quick photos. The 633 are getting hemmed, so I’ll take photos of those when I get them back.

Got to meet and chat with @Giles, @Alex, @kiya, and Demitra. Picked up some free goodies. Drank some drinks. Overall, I had a great time at the party.

Just posting an quick update here. I’ve had this for about 2.5 years. I wore it pretty heavily during the first year, but not nearly as often as I wore my jeans. I’ve always been a fan of the texture. After washing it in the washer for the first time recently, the slubbiness has definitely popped a bit more.

Been wearing this Tom Western a lot recently. Love the character that’s developing throughout the shacket. It definitely still has some sheen and squeakiness to it.

Great to see the activity in here. I purchased the Tom Western SK-13 in April. I’ve been trying to wear it as often as I could in this sporadic Southern California weather. I don’t need anything super heavy duty, so this “shacket” is perfect for me.

Due to these running smaller, I took a gamble on the size when I purchased it. Fortunately, I fell in love with the fit immediately once I received it. The sleeves are just a tiny bit longer than what I’d prefer, but all the other measurements work well for me. I’m currently eyeing the Kakishibu Type 1, so hopefully I’ll be able to add another Y’2 piece.

I wore it earlier this week on a family trip to Legoland, and it was awesome!

While washing my 888 XHSib, I decided to also throw these in the washer. These have only been soaked once and washed once. Both pairs will be going to IH for some much needed repairs, then put into storage while I break in my 888 SBG.

The weather in Southern California has been a bit sporadic recently. I used it as an opportunity to get some more wear on the SK-13.

These have been worn for one year straight with just the initial soak; no washes. Typically at this point, I’d just give them a soak with a mild hand wash. I decided to try something new and threw them in the washer on no spin cold wash, after an hour-long soak.

The lighting isn’t ideal, so I’ll try to take some more pictures in natural lighting. I’ll be sending these off to IH for some repairs. In the meantime, I’ll be switching gears to the 888-SBG

Fresh delivery! I went with a size large based off the measurements. The jacket fits pretty well overall, except for the sleeves. They were quite a bit long on me, so I just cuffed them. I think it works.

Definitely have to be mindful of the crocking with this piece. My hands are covered in indigo just from handling it. This will be a fun piece to fade.

I was able to soak my jeans over the weekend. I soaked it in cold water to minimize shrinkage. There was some shrinkage all around. Once dried, they were a bit tight and stiff. After about 5-10 minutes of wear, they were comfortable once again.

Mission accomplished! I guess that’s why it’s so difficult to describe. It’s such a perfect blend of all four denims. Can’t wait to break these in!

@Oaktavia I’d say out of the few different denim pieces I have (21IB, XHSIB, SBG, SLBOD), these are probably the most coarse and hairy. It’s quite comfortable from the very first wear, although not as buttery soft as the SLBOD. The denim is going to fade beautifully.

The CPO overall is definitely hefty. But this is my first experience with any CPOs, so I’m not sure if that’s just the “overbuilt” nature of the CPO.

My apologies if this wasn’t very helpful. My knowledge and vocabulary with denim isn’t very strong.

@Fadez I’m 5’9” at 175 pounds. I tried on the large first. It fit well, but the arms were a bit tight. So I tried the Extra Large, and that one fit very comfortably. The sleeves are a bit long, but I’m fine with cuffing them. It’s a fitted look, which is my preference.

I’ve never actually measured myself with a tape measurer, but I find that tops with ~19” chest and ~43-44” shoulder measurements work best for me.

@Mister_Brue I appreicate the feedback. I think you might’ve swayed me towards the OD CPO. I guess it’ll be a game time decision once I see it at the release party.

@flannel-slut thanks for being the voice of reason. I’ll stick with the indigo 633 and OD CPO. I’ll hold off for something else down the road. I’m currently eyeing that IB CPO, but there’s no timeframe on when it’ll be returning.

I’ve got a first world dilemma I’d like some feedback on. I’m planning on getting the indigo 633 for upcoming Indigo invitational. I don’t have any CPO’s, so I’m getting one from this collection; heavily leaning towards the indigo. I’d also like to get the Type 3, but I currently have the SLBOD Type 3.

My dilemma is which should be my third piece? I’d like to get one OD piece from this collection. The OD Type 3 is out since it would be too much overlap with my current SLBOD. I don’t want to enter the indigo invitational with an OD piece. This will be my first CPO, so that’s the reason why I’m leaning towards the indigo.

My thought process for the third piece is:

1. Do I get the OD CPO and keep it on ice for a bit, and wear after I’ve broken in the indigo CPO?
2. Do I get the OD 633 as a bridge/non-competition pair?
3. Do I get the indigo Type 3 since I don’t have a non-OD Type 3?

Bonus: Do I just get the indigo 633 and indigo CPO, and hold off for something else down the line?

@Oaktavia you know very well that nobody is gonna talk you out of getting both! I’m surprised nobody has pushed you to get all three….

I’m set on getting the 633 indigo and CPO indigo. The OD is calling out to me, because it’s OD. This will be my first CPO so I’m set on getting the indigo version. Same with the 633. I’m POSSIBLY thinking about getting the Type III OD, but I already have the 526 SLBOD. So that’ll be too much overlap.
