Sell them. The proportion on the butt just doesn't look great on your body. The pockets are too large and the back rise is too high. That will not really change when you soak them. However, the waist will change. It will stretch back but why go through all the trouble. They are also much too long. Even with the cuff. I mean you can do a serious cuff or a serious stack but not a serious cuff plus a serious stack. That's just ridiculous. Can't you exchange them? In selling you'd kill too much money. Making them fit and getting them cuffed and sent back and forth is not worth it. Might as well have bought the 634S or another IH model.

They'll shrink 1" in the waist and a good 2 - 3 inches in the leg with a soak.  Once you get the starch out of them and start wearing them they will a) drape better and b) mould to your body.

If you understand the difference between sanforized and unsanforized then you should be able to answer this one simon; though there are plenty of people who like soaking their sanforized jeans anyway. And the best way to making jeans sit better and set better and all that is to wear them. It all boils down to that man.

Simon - just give it a try..i generally don´t soak sanforized denim - shrinkage is so minimal - but if you feel like doing it - just do it !

Yes, creases will most likely vanish - but should settle back once u wear them. It´s not a science - just wear them

Exactly. C'mon simon, go skate and climb mountains and shit. If you love your jeans, you will abuse them.

Whilst we're on the subject of cars…

I am sensible car owner (modern Seat diesel), I have to commute 25 miles each way.

However, my colleague's father has a Merc for sale, like this: http://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C138452/ - but a petrol model.

Since my dad died I have been hankering after a Merc (he used to run a late seventies 350 SEL), so for the sake of large chunk of sentimentality (and some retro charm) I am seriously considering getting this Mercedes.

Does the collective think that it will be a time/money sink and a dreadful daily driver?

                          You a baller?.. Buy it.

                          You not?.. Don't.

I wouldn't wanna drive that thing 50 miles a day. Unless it's highway (and traffic free) only…

Yeah, you're probably right, I'm trying not to be sensible…

Looks FABULOUS. Heart over mind, hands down. Looks like it's been preserved very well. What are the engine specs?..

Its not the car in the link that was just to show the shape, the car in question has a v6 2.5 petrol. It is black though which is cool.

Yes it was informative, thanks Simon. Two cars is viable but I'm sure I would then start to get some vague enviroguilt.

                                        Its def a heart/head thing.

I'm going to take a look at the Merc next week so I will take some poics and share here.

                                          that's actually a cool idea.

Check this site out: http://www.eaglegb.com/ - they will sell you a modernised version of a classic, epic money but it would be the perfect combo of old and new.
