Just came here to post about ios7…. Only thing I can say I like is the home screen and the writing seems sharper. Everything else is ugly. Can anybody really tell me these two pictures are not eyesores?

Really? Messages just look way to cartoony for me. Really bright and large….

Also imo the grey surrounding the album cover just looks kind of jarring. Doesn't seem to blend that well...

I hate the signal strength bar but mine reads in dB so I don't have to see it. I suppose I'll just have to cope. I thought Jony Ive had a more spartan aesthetic than this. Oh well.

I've been using it for almost 3 months now. It was only weird the first few days. Which I would assume was because I was accustomed to the same bubbly design for 6 six years. Looking back at the old design makes me realize how outdated it was. I like how flat it is now.

I like the flatness. I don't like the neon gradients, the layouts, or the animations. Ymmv….

An overhaul was about two years past due.  I also like the flatness, and the notification center is worth the update, all by itself.  I really can't believe it took this long.  I agree the colors are a little jarring, though.

I pretty much like everything but the colors. Also, it seems to be sucking my battery done very quickly but I've always had crappy battery life…

                          That's unfair…. A little insulting too.

I haven't found anything I dislike since my initial gripes so I'm relieved my "iceberg" statement has proven so far to be false.

You mean from multitasking?  I kinda dig that. Getting used to the zoom and kind of liking it for folders. There are some weird animations and sometimes it takes parallax a second to work, which destroys the illusion. Also noticed the time wasn't showing in the header when I was on a call. That would be a regression or a bug at least. The worst part is I think the battery really suffers. Had mine replaced last week, so I'm using a fresh battery for comparison and it seems at least 10% harder on a battery that already isn't great. That may be generous. I'm guessing ways of turning off features to optimize battery will emerge and I have a few I'll try.

It's worth updating for sure, whatever misgivings I have in a few areas. Even worth the cost of battery life if I can't fix that.

That's one of my favorite new features. It somehow feels way more organic and less tedious. The new look does make some apps seem outdated…tapatalk, I'm talking to you.

It's interesting that the modal dialogs will look new in old apps, but not the keyboard. I had assumed that was a system element that would automatically be the iOS 7 keyboard, guess not. I think that would help make legacy apps feel newer, but I'm sure there a good reason for it.

Definitely upgrade.  For the most part iOS7 is exactly what I've been looking for.  The multi tasker, pull down spotlight, cleaner lock screen, and most of all the control center are great IMO.  That was all functionality I had jailbroken my phone to get, but 7 convinced me to go back to a stock OS, and I'm happy with the decision.

My only real gripes are with the animations and the notification center.  The animations could be a bit quicker/snappier.  On my 4S, the make the OS feel a bit sluggish at times.  I also wish the notification center would let you collapse notifications of the same app, but that's just being nit picky…

2.9gb is a bit steep for me on a 16gb phone… I'll be sticking with os6 for now.

Looks like I'm one of the lucky few who got the 'Push Notifications' bug - continual pop up in some apps (e.g., Newsstand) telling user to connect to iTunes to receive push notifications.

If you get it, looks like Restore from Backup is the fix.
