Not in keeping with the simple philosophy I agree, and they're not for everyone. I just love the look of the double mid's and the boot has more heft with them as it counteracts the sleek MP toe. Also the conditions I'll be wearing them in dictate a double sole; everything that lifts me out of mud, snow, and sleet is good stuff.

That's an awesome pair of boots, and they'll look even better with some wear on them! Double mid suits them, but I expect it will take a bit more to break them in fully.

Yeah the oil-tanned lacks character initially but was a must if they're going to be year round boots. The good thing is I can use mink oil on them. And I've seen well worn examples that look ace.

Yeah, I know. I really need to adjust my attitude to indigo stains on tanned leather. Don't give a fig about oil/mud/grass stains on denim. But I baby my leather… Wtf is that about? [emoji23]

Yep…everything I own gets worn for everything I do...period. Hell, these will likely be breaking in alongside my SII. So they'll see maximum transfer. Just knuckle up and realize that's what we spend the money for
