Got an E30 a year and a half ago. It's my little weekender/project car.  I've been slowly fixing everything including converting the interior to OEM Uberkaro interior. Here are some pics:

Nice e30. We had e30, e28 and e23 back in the day in my family; all of them great cars.

This is one of the coolest vehicles I've ever seen on Youtube.  I love the fact that this guy is non-chalantly daily driving a huge turbo'd, 1100 hp econobox.

Here he is putting a Yamaha R1 to shame:

To drive that thing fast you have to be 100% there, the Traction and the willingness to stay on the road seems to be limited to say the least, nontheless a cool Machine, there arent many Mk1s with a sequential Gearbox around.

on the topic of older cars, me and a mate went out for a drive. while i was at his place, i took a peek at his dad's collection.. an oldsmobile and a VY SS.. the SS wasn't that old but to find one in such pristine condition is quite rare.. LS1 V8..  😉

and then here's mine. sorted out the suspensions for now, still waiting on a piggyback ecu to go turbo, unless i can find a standalone ecu which is a little hard to come by considering the platform is rather new..

You should get an APR tune the day your warranty expires. It’s fun now but it’s a whole other beast once you get it tuned! Enjoy it @Anesthetist!

definitely worth the APR stage 1 at the very least. although i'm not quite a fan of the gti, i must say the mk7/7.5 is quite impressive after i got to try alex's gti.

ichopped a mk6 gti once. i'm guessing it'll take a lot more to chop the 7.. haven't had the chance to meet one at the lights though..

I’d consider a tune some day, if I could get Darci to go along with it. My car is an automatic, I haven’t driven a stick since my WRX. I miss the car but not a clutch in rush hour. The GTI is a good balance for us. Good family car and a lot of fun.

i'm pretty sure the transmission is the DSG that's the same in most vw.. which is technically their version of pdk. but pdk is in another level of it's own of double clutch

Yes, the S-Tronic was called DSG till 2005. The PDK in the new Macan is altough a DSG by VW since they now own Porsche. The PDK in the other Porsche Models are made by ZF a German Manufacturer.

The Cross Brand usage of Parts is at Max in the VW Company, further Info here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Volkswagen_Group_platforms
