Anyone here play video games?

@StarsSuck Yeah, I’m slightly addicted to it – played it on launch and still logging in most days I get the chance

I loved both the Skate games and Tony Hawk series back in the day, but coming from skating/surfing as a kid, always preferred the realism of Skate. This new one doesn’t quite have the same gritty vibe of the originals and lacks any sort of engaging story mode, but the map is fun and there’s loads of cool spots and challenges to find/unlock.
I’ve seen a lot of people bitching that it’s “Fortnite on skateboards”, and will admit that the always online and micro transactions elements are a bit annoying – but for a free to play, I can’t really complain. The micro transactions are only used to buy silly costumes (nothing you do in the game boosts stats or gives you an advantage etc), and I’ve still managed to easily maxed out all current levels, and unlocked loads of fun stuff without spending a penny on it. Definitely worth a download if you liked the originals

@StarsSuck Its great fun. It doesnt take itself as seriously as the previous games and the controls feel way more simplified.
You should also check session and skater XL.
These are a lot more rewarding once you get the controls down. -
@SamD @Freeman solid reviews all around. I'm going to give it a go. Something about where I'm at mentally is keeping me from locking in on a deep story game. I just want distraction, preferably laced with nostalgia, to carry me through these dopamine-deprived winter months. I don't even mind a decent microtransaction here and there

Just picked up the original Dragon Quest on android. Gives me all the 90's feels. Such a great, functional port and it's designed to play one handed in portrait mode. Pretty smart.

Trying to work my way through Borderlands 4 while wondering if it is just rubbish or just that I am 58.

I cant wrap my head around Crimson Desert. So much going on. Might be a 300+ hour game. Might skip this for now as I doubt it will run that well on a base PS5. The Digital Foundry preview on the PS5 Pro looks very good. Game is a RPG but seems to have everything in it. Will need to see it plays out over the coming month or so once released.

Can someone help me make sense of Destiny 2. The pop ups in this game...I have menus in menus on top of menus. I can't even figure out exactly which quests I can do solo to get my power up. Maybe these MMORPGs just aren't my bag...
