Member Guidelines
-
We want everyone here to get answers to questions they may have, help others in return, have interesting interactions and generally have fun. Please follow these general guidelines to keep this forum a good place to be.
-
Please be attentive to the moods, thoughts and vocabulary currently being used by the community of this forum. Be polite and courteous, but more importantly try to listen first. Pay some attention to the post you are responding to.
-
Do not be overly sarcastic or rude. If you are then one of the Mod Squad will delete it.
-
Please try and stay on topic. Know when being off topic has gone too far, also know when and how to bring a thread back on track. Please do it with some respect.
-
We would prefer no discussion on politics, race or religion. If you feel the absolute need to get on a soapbox about something, start a new thread in General Chat, it will either get deleted or die a natural death.
-
Please do not post the like of "I have this for sale" or "I want" in product threads. We have a Marketplace for buying and selling.
-
Please do not post links to torrents.
-
No AI images of Iron Heart products
-
Please do not place a link to a URL in your signature.
-
LEGIT CHECKS.....
If you want to ask the community whether an item that you suspect to be fake, is legit or not, then you MUST include where you have seen it for sale, or where you bought it from. It would also be useful if you say why you think the item is suspect with accompanying photos if relevant. If you do not, then your post will be deleted. If the seller is not a legitimate Iron Heart retailer (list on the Iron Heart website), then your post will also be deleted.
I'm pretty sure if you know the seller is dodge, then you know the answer.-
The Moderator is always right (sorry, that’s just the way it has to be). If you have a problem with a Moderator's judgment, the only recourse is to send a PM to me.

If a member publicly criticises a Mod decision or tries to undermine a Moderator's authority, they’re likely to be banned immediately.
A warning may be issued for violating any of these guidelines (which, let’s face it, aren’t too onerous). Persistent violation will result in either a 3 day or permanent ban, this to be at the Mod Squad's discretion.

Update to our guidelines about political content:
Iron Heart is an international brand, and this forum also has a global reach. We are proud of that. For the forum to be a pleasant, inclusive place, where people from all over the world can come to discuss the brand, denim and other interests, we have always had guidelines that ask our users to refrain from posting comments likely to cause unnecessary conflict or create a negative environment. This includes posting about themes like politics, religion and other controversial issues. Our opinion is that there are other places on the internet for this kind of discussion. In addition, the hostility and ugliness often found in comment sections around the internet is not something we need or want here.
Unfortunately, there has recently been an increase in this kind of posting. This has begun to include posting of clothing or other artefacts showing support for different political groups or ideologies. We do not want to act as censor for our member’s posts, but we will not be able to tolerate people promoting their political ideologies in this way any longer, for the reasons described above.
For the record, the forum and the brand believe in equality for all people, regardless of gender, race, sexuality or nationality. As such, we take an especially dim view of overtly nationalistic, fascist, or intolerant, groups, ideologies or viewpoints being promoted here. As a general rule though we would like all users to refrain from posting any direct or implied political content.
Thanks for reading.
The Mod Squad and Stubborn Crew.

A friendly reminder that posts discussing themes like politics, religion, and other controversial issues will be removed from the forum. We once again ask that users refrain from posting any direct or implied political content. It makes our lives as mods easier and your time here more enjoyable.
Thank you.

I am asking once again for members to respect our policy of no discussions regarding politics, religion, and other controversial issues. Lately there has been an uptick on religion. Bible verses, talks of Satan, etc. are pushing the boundaries of what is acceptable and needs to stop. There are better places than here for those comments.
Future comments will be removed. Continued discussion on those topics could lead to removal from the forum.
Thank you.

@Giles said in AI Chat/GPT Pictures and Usage:
We are persuaded by the arguments about using AI for images of our stuff. AI can't possibly know what will happen with our gear over time, not least because many of the fabrics and denims we use have not been made before. An inaccurate, assumed/generated rendition does us, as brand, no good at all. And in all honesty, this place was created, amongst other things, to show our clothing in real life.
We probably won't catch them all. but please do not post AI generated images of Iron Heart products. If we see one, we will delete it.
Newest update to the member rules.

New addendum to the member guidelines:
Ideology and politics are inextricably linked to one another, and while talk of politics is forbidden on the forum, we have allowed talk of ideology. For most of us there are fine lines between the two. but the line often shifts depending upon which side of the line you personally believe. That fervent belief that your side is right and the other side isn’t, is what gets ugly and people need reminders not to cross. Dogma has no place here.
Some topics are easy to manage where the topic is so divisive that they are shut down immediately, while others aren’t as easy to say when is enough.
As mods, we make decisions fairly regularly about what to delete, what to permit, and when to discipline. It’s not easy and we often will discuss amongst ourselves what the right course of action should be.
We pride ourselves in the fact that The Iron Heart Forum is a safe, pleasant, and on the whole non confrontational corner of the web. We have many members whose only form of "social media", is here, precisely because of that.
If you want to have strong views about something/anything that may be controversial, there are plently of other places to do that.
In the future, people who consistently post antagonistic statements to evoke responses (trolling behaviour) along those ideological lines, will be warned by pm to please be mindful of their language. Repeated actions after those warning may result in a ban from the forum.
