      @Giles:

      This watch really does grab some attention.  I was boarding a plane recently and a guy came down the aisle after me and asked me what it was…...

      Now that is dedication for you haha…...

      @Cutlasshound:

      What's the sizing like on them bl@ster? Look great!

      I think they run TTS. But you could get away with going a half size down if you wear thinner socks.

      Hi Bl@ster, are these normal thin suede or rough-outs please?

      Also, some shots of the sand suede Service Boot:

      Haha, that's a very kind offer indeed.  I am guessing with the sizing showing on the picture, a couple of you chaps may have your eye on them as being a good fit for a new project lol!! 🙂

      Thanks chaps, you've given me some good things to consider here.  As you say, onthe basis I have a current rotation, and have now added some old IH which I hadn't been wearing, which I like even more, I shan't be in a rush to crack them open so to speak.
      I found along with these now some old Imperial Denim as well, which had also slipped the net till now.  It's been quite a find, this box.  😉

      I understand both sides on this one. I'm afraid I have the collectors gene that seems to cover, denim and other such covetable vices too.  Will take some more pictures when home from DK. I assume other than the tab and pocket stitching, that this model still is the same?!

      You see that is a good argument the other way too!  I am really on the fence on this one.  :S

      I felt I have compromised, a little, as I have started to wear my old IH-634-SE that I found in the same place basically unworn.

      I am thinking I might well do that, as this is where my collectors gene seems to cut in!! 😉

    • RE: Watches - another OCD problem

      That really does look great, I hoped it wasn't just the light of the picture.  I would see that as wonderful ageing of a lovely watch, much less a flaw, and more a point to really love. 🙂

      Thanks very much G, I hoped you'd chime in with the exact details.  Those dates would coincide perfectly with me moving mid 2006 and these ending up in a box in my garage.  Scary how such nice denim ended up there!!

      @Cole:

      My daily companion since 1996. a watch that can be worn with everything and will never be out of style (in my opinion).

      Hi Cole, did the tip of the second hand fade to that colour?  Lovely!!  Mine from 2003 I think has different paint, so never faded.

      I was trying to work out how old they must be now, but no idea I'm afraid.  Possibly from 2005??

      Thanks Chris, I have done collecting in the past, but am trying to be more of the way of your thinking!
      I guess the possible rarity of these is stopping me from just getting on and wearing them, and the fact I have a number of pairs in my rotation that will keep me going for some time.

    • Sugar Cane - SC1947 (old style)

      Afternoon All,

      While looking in my cupboard I remembered I had a pair of the older style Sugar Cane 1947s with the older style arctuates, from before a well know brand I understand forced them to change this!!
      My question really is, would you keep them in the mint tagged state they are now in, or would you 'break them open', even though they are possible 10 years old and a bit rarer nowadays??  :-\
