how will the black hold up after washes?

Yeah I went back and forth with measurements, unfortunately wasn't able to convince myself to pick these up. I washed and put on my falling apart IH-666s and decided I didn't want to squeeze my thighs into a 30.

Well, this might be a bit late for some folks but just in case…

• As I mentioned in another post, I am a true waist size 31 (15.5").
• In most IH denim, I wear a 32 based on personal preference for fit (e.g. some room in the waist).
• In most IH denim, the downside of a 32 for me, is the fit through the legs is a bit roomier than I'd like.

I recently picked up a pair of these (666SB) in a 29 and the fit is perfect for what I was looking for. No problems buttoning, top block was initially a little snug but loosened really quickly. Within a few days, fit was very comfortable. The measurements provided by IH, are spot on.

• 29 in these will fit like a 31, over time.
• 30 in these will likely fit like a 32, over time.

Just my findings but likely vary per body type. Hope this helps.

bringing this thread back to life for a bit. i found a pair of these on grailed tagged 30, problem is i comfortably wear a 31 from the original run of IH-666s. can anyone attest to a 30 fitting like a 32 over time?

my 31 fits a little loose in the waist but a little snug around the thighs/butt after just washing

i just dug my pair out of the closet, was thinking of having the leg tapered a bit more from the knee down.. has anyone done any alterations to their iron hearts? how did they hold up?

i hate to mess with the cut but im pretty short so i had them shortened awhile back but the leg opening just feels large.. maybe I should just get boots.

Sell them to a Japanese person for like $500 and buy yourself a new pair (My buddy did this). That or hit up Rudy and or The Denim Vault as they are both looking for this type of stuff.

thanks guys! i really wish i could wear them still, i've had them repaired at self edge like three times i think. every time i get them back another hole starts to form.  the denim has gotten very, very thin at the seat.

@Matt: not sure if that is a compliment or an insult…i'm going to take it as a compliment. i don't post on here nearly as much as i should. i try to keep myself away from the forums so i don't want to buy jeans.

@Morose_Penguin i am not sure if i could part ways. i submitted some pictures to try to get them displayed at self edge LA before they opened but no luck... we'll see..

wish there was some kind of trade-in program. my pretty much retired 634S. 4 years old

@seul i have a hard time sizing for slimmer jeans since im always afraid of getting something that's far too tight. i got a 31. i could have gotten a 30 but a 29 would have been too tight.

is it possible to get a size 31 to shrink down to the OD measurement for a size 31?

thats similar to what i did. i did a soak as hot as my faucet would go + some hot water every now and then from a kettle. then the next soak i did as hot as the faucet would go + more hot water from the kettle and a large pot of water that i brought to a boil. HOPEFULLY i've gotten the shrinking out since i'd like to have them hemmed…

edit: currently wearing them, i think i could've pulled off a 30. it would've been uncomfortable for awhile but i dont think i can get any more shrinkage from the waist. oh well. time to try and save for an IH belt NOT YET. if the overdye can get down to a 29.6 im determined i can get to a 30 at least. soaking pt. 3 will be happening. is it possible giles?

i only have a construction measuring tape (metal one) so these arent the most accurate…
waist=30.75 inches
thigh=10.5"
hem=7.75"

had to measure quickly so i just took those three.if my hips weren't so wide i think i couldve gotten a 30.....

going to soak once more today, just want to get as much shrinkage as i can. i may get these shortened but i need to see if i will be able to wear shoes like vans with these still. i don't want heel drag!
