@68degreesorless whoa, that’s awesome — thanks for pointing that out. Sometimes when my laces are a bit short, tying a double knot ends up with that annoying wad situation that doesn’t really lie flat. Gonna try this

RE: Fragrances
@guiltyparty I’ve gotten several samples and ended up buying a bottle of Purple Haze. I love incense-y scents, and it’s definitely that — great kind of hippie head shop vibe. Kinda strong, so I tend to spray it in the air and walk through it, just so it’s not too much of a blast. I also liked Chronic and Chinese Tobacco, though not sure I’d go for a bottle of either. They have some newer ones I’d like to try.

RE: Fragrances
@SKT I think I've smelled that CDG one before (I might even still have a sample of it) and I don't remember it smelling as unhinged as the description sounds. I think it was more just kind of industrial and graphite-y smelling. Maybe like a print shop. With a lot of those wild ones they make, I'd never buy a full bottle but I still enjoy picking up a sample to try. Places like Luckyscent and Indiescents are great for that — they cost usually like 4 to 5 bucks a piece and you can try a bunch of stuff. Plus since most of them are kinda dabbed on vs spray samples, they tend to last quite a while. Good bang for buck.
While CDG does do the wild stuff, I think they really excel at doing more straightforward things. Wonderwood is really great, and their Incense series is fantastic. Each is sort of one-note (really just a depiction of a kind of incense), but they smell so good. I'm particularly fond of Avignon, which makes you smell like an old church (my inner goth is like "yes, I'll have that") and Kyoto, which is a really nice, clean, soapy sort of sandalwood.

@chrisjohnnick and yes I definitely check out Fragrantica, if anything just to read the crazy ass, quasi-literary reviews people leave. Friggin kills me.

RE: Fragrances
This is a fun thread. I’m a total fragrance nut and have a shitload of stuff, but I’m super picky. Anything aquatic or with that sort of base that all of the “mall-y” colognes tend to have (ambroxan?) makes me wanna take ten showers, but anything kind of woody, herbal, and out of the ordinary usually grabs my attention. Always have loved CDG (Wonderwood and Monocle Hinoki especially), and other faves are La Curie, DS & Durga, Slumberhouse, and Kerosene, off the top of my head. And Blackbird out of Seattle has always been a huge go-to for me. Lately pretty in love with their Moto Oud.

@68degreesorless Common One is also a cool record. Plus not sure if you've ever checked out his early stuff with Them, but it's awesome for a bit of perspective / history. You might recognize this sample:

RE: IHE-51-IND - Diamond Stitched 25oz Selvedge Denim Waist Bag - Indigo
Love these and am debating picking one up... only real reservation is the indigo transfer factor. I wear black tees like 90% of the time, but I wouldn't really wanna have to worry about it if I wore something lighter. Can anyone speak to how much it transfers?

RE: Random questions to which you seek an answer
@Alex can you tell us any more about this new 16oz vintage denim that's used on the FW25 chore jacket and cpo? Is this the same denim used in the relaxed cut @Giles has been wearing?
I see that it's sanforized, but I'm wondering if there's any connection to the old 18oz raw vintage, i.e. is this an attempt to get something in that vain back in the lineup? Part of me thinks maybe because of the word "vintage," but maybe not due to it not being raw. Anyway, frickin' curious af over here.

@gmk83 they’ll be posted this week prior to the release and yes, as far as I know they’ll be available online simultaneously.

Yep @Bobcat-Sig I definitely agree with everything @pechelman said above ^^^ . It wasn't something I paid a lot of attention to for a good long while, because I really didn't understand why it mattered, but in retrospect I do think it has a lot to do with how the top block fits. A lot of times I'd buy a pair of IH that'd fit well in the waist, but the general top block was just too snug and I'd be thinking "I don't get it — why is this happening?" I don't think the rear rise is everything in that equation, but it's definitely part. I'd say like most dimensions, measure a pair of jeans that fit you really well and try to aim for that. The good thing is like Phil said, you can get a bit of stretch out of it.
My girlfriend would definitely agree about butts! lol. I think that probably has a lot to do with why I don't wear skinnier jeans — if I had chicken legs and a smaller ass, I could definitely pull that off a lot easier, but these are the cards I was dealt

RE: SEXIH25 = Self Edge x Iron Heart 19oz Denim Jeans
@Bobcat-Sig totally hear you on that. 634's 11"-ish zone is kind of the sweet spot for me, as a 12"+ rise is fine but sometimes I almost feel like it's a tad too high when I sit down and it sorta slices into my gut haha.
I have learned, especially with the aforementioned pair of 19Ls, that the back rise is a real one to watch out for. If it's too low, you can really get sort of a wedgie effect if you have any kind of butt. If I'm buying around a size 34, 16" rear rise is perfect, can do 15.6ish.

RE: SEXIH25 = Self Edge x Iron Heart 19oz Denim Jeans
@dinobarnesberlin man I love that denim! I tried to get a pair of the last run but the back rise ended up weirdly low and I had to send em back. Hoping to pick up a pair next time around.

RE: SEXIH25 = Self Edge x Iron Heart 19oz Denim Jeans
@Brandrea yep. Not a problem for all but I have huge feet and an 8” hem won’t fit over my engineer boots, or at least not without looking silly. Plus just not personally a fan of the way tapered jeans look on me. Obv they work great for some folks.

RE: SEXIH25 = Self Edge x Iron Heart 19oz Denim Jeans
Not really getting my hopes up but would love to see this denim in a 634 someday. Love the way it looks but just can’t do the taper.

RE: IHSH-422-BRN - 17oz Cotton Duck CPO Shirt - Brown
I’m in the same boat. Love this but I’ve got the Untucked and it’s maybe the only work pattern shirt I have, so I wanna keep it in the mix.

RE: SEXIH25-CPO - Self Edge x Iron Heart 19oz Denim CPO Shirt
Just a personal opinion but the duck CPO goes with more. I tend to not wear my denim tops a ton because I’m not always (though sometimes I am, of course) into going all denim.
