after some size advice on this one. am a small in the johnny cash western (the 1st one) and not sure if i should go S or M on this. S looks about right but not sure on length…

am full of want for this. unemployment & iron heart are not a good combination however.

cheers Rafa, very nice of you to say so. sadly when i bought this place last year i had to get rid of a lot of awesome stuff that i'd collected over the years as there wasn't the room (last place was a little bit bigger). but since it's the first place i've actually owned i don't mind so much.

measurements aside how does this compare to the IHSH-33 fit wise? anybody own both?

cheers madmonday (mark?). the shoes are a recent purchase - 70's italian made leather in almost new condition.

as for sizing on the 555's, i got the 31 and lost an inch in the waist but gained it back after 10 wear perhaps. it will stretch beyond eventually if you make it. as for the regular 21oz indigo version, assuming it's the stock 21oz you'll get a fair bit of stretch over time. i have a pair of 301s which have stretched almost 2 inches over the years.

still not enough love for the 02's - inexplicably

geeman - you're letting a common occurrence get in the way of your enjoyment of a great pair of jeans. just forget about it & wear the things, they're not going to fall apart. what's the worst that could happen here - the stitching comes loose and you need to get it repaired.. simple. all my slimmer fit jeans have this, even the non iron heart jeans i'm wearing right now which i have worn non stop for a year, and nothing has ever come of it.

random question - are these a natural or synthetic dyed indigo?

@motiono - check the 301s thread for comparison.

having had the 301s, 666 & 555, i'd say if you liked the 301s go with the 555 as the cut is closer than the 666 - which has a bigger leg opening.

i'm a 30 in the 301 & 31 in the 555.

different angles i know but you get the idea. have only worn the 555's a few times now but they'll be in pole position soon

that'd be me. i find the 301 a bit roomier up top (not a huge amount) but then more fitted below the knee due to the nature of the taper. on the whole i find the 301 a slimmer fit, but that's just based on my height & build, a taller person may have a different experience. my 301s are still my favourite cut but the difference in relation to the 555 is so minimal for me that i almost consider the 555 a selvedge out seamed version of the 301.

No plans to re-run in the short term.  The 01 and the 03 are being re-run atm, but the 02 is selling much slower (for reasons i simply do not comprehend)

We designed the patch and then decided to run the 18oz raws too.  300 patches is the minimum, so we decided just to go with the original patch

i've noticed the 02 getting less love here too - makes no sense to me at all.

I just got my first pair of Iron Heart jeans, the 301s from SENY, they feel so great! And I'm already thinking about getting a second pair! I'm trying to decide between the 666 and the 555 fit in the 18oz denim. I'm a little confused because according to the IH site the thigh on the 666 is .9" smaller than the 555, in size 29, even though the 555 is a slimmer fit. Is that correct? I have to wait for IH to get either fit in a size 28 anyway.

i found the 555 a closer fit to the 301 than the 666. the 666 has a larger leg opening (hem) so is roomier from the knee down. the 555 is much smaller in that regard..

after 2 hot soaks:

waist - 32
thigh - 11
knee - 7.1
fr - 9.3
rr - 14.5
leg opening (on a 31.5 inseam) - 6.8

that whole top block will stretch out. i'd be persevering if they were mine but that's just me.
