      A dackel!!

That's one mighty fine and gorgeous hound dog you got there, @Chap! You very obviously have great taste! I've grown up with them, but have never had a long hair. I hear they're the sweetest.

I recently lost my best friend/fellow life traveler/partner eight weeks ago this coming Saturday, but I digress...

He was a wire hair and a whirling dervish of insanity (in the best possible way, of course)

    • RE: Iron Heart Products - What do you think we should make?

I would do truly unspeakable things for a forest green (duck?) five-pocket jean. even drab olive. selvege or not. something like the 17oz canvas brown duck, but green.

      quack, quack, quack

    • RE: IH-2526J - 17oz Duck Modified Type III - Brown

I say embrace the shorter length, @DeeDee85, but I say that as someone who'll only wear short cut Type IIIs, and it really depends on how you wanna wear it.

Given where I live (SoCal), I hardly, if ever, layer, and typically just wear whatever top over a simple tee. If you're planning on wearing this as a layering piece, you'd probably want to size up.

The one thing about a shorter cut jacket is that it allows details like a belt to really pop and become a nice outfit focal point.

      Anyway, that's my $0.02

    • RE: IH-888-XHSMB - 25oz Selvedge Denim Medium/High Rise Tapered Cut - Mad Black

It's the single-most unique IH fabric I've come across. Nothing else really compares, and even though it shares some of the same treatment of the standard OD, it's totally distinct.

Indigo hues, smokey grays, little pops of burgundy, and black as night. Just badass.

I'd kill for a re-run in the 634, but alas...

    • RE: IRON HEART WAYWT - 2023 EDITION

Not @goosehd @Tobi, but they’re Wesco’s 8106 Work Boot. They were part of Wesco’s 100 year Anniversary collection, and you’re 100% correct, they’re pure fecking art!

Unfortunately, they’re NLA, but some pop up from time-to-time on various sites (e.g., eBay, Grailed, etc.).

I was lucky enough to find a second-hand pair for in newish condition in my size on eBay.

    • RE: Wesco® - 7" Smooth-Out British Tan Domain 100th Anniversary 8106 Workboot

Such gorgeous boots, @goosehd! Just picture perfect. The treatment's really revivified the British Tan Domain, but the untreated one looks every bit as good. I love the patina of a dirty boot.

These were/are a grail item for me. I was super fortunate to snag a second-hand pair last year and my life is now greatly improved.

it's starting to smell like fried chicken. Maybe time for another soapy soak soon.

I loves me the smell of some fried up chickies. wear on brother!

    • RE: IHJ-103-IND - 12oz Wabash Chore Jacket - Indigo

I have the 120 in indigo. I think the only differences between it and the 103 is that the 120 has snaps and a repositioned shoulder seam. I'm a sucker for wabash. the fades are sooooo good

Stoked, @Memphisakers! They look a helluva a lot better on you than they did me! Looks like you got a fair amount of stretch on that waist, too! Glad everything worked out, my dude. ✌

    • RE: Iron Heart X Simmons Bilt Horsehide Western Shirt - The Pale Rider - Natural

I agree with @goosehd in that the fit looks pretty spot on. It essentially fits the way I'd want it to.

I also have this shirt and get the same billowing at the shoulder, right below the collar. In reading through this thread, I seem to recall other folks having the same billowing effect, so seems to be an "architectural" issue, rather than something unique to your specific shirt/jacket.

I expect it to settle with wear and time, but being that it's horse, stretch, to the extent there's any, will be negligible.

    • RE: IH-2526J - 17oz Duck Modified Type III - Brown

It’s certainly possible, but I’d say unlikely, @DeeDee85, as these have consistently measured shorter in length.

But, as they say, hope springs eternal!

    • RE: Iron Heart X Simmons Bilt Horsehide Western Shirt - The Pale Rider - Natural

Same, @Jcaz6996, I'm going au naturel with mine. Natty leather patinas phenomenally, reagrdless, so there's no wrong answer, but I like the slow and steadiness of just letting the patina happen, as opposed to speeding it up.

But to each their own, of course.

    • RE: WESCO

sounds like we’re all in the same boat.

I’ve got some black horsehide Jobmasters in process that I ordered in Feb. ‘22 through Baker Boots.

Still waitin’ (and it’s a good thing I didn’t hold my breath!)

Back in ‘22, Wesco was quoting lead times ranging from 12-16 months, but they’re closer to about 24 now.

I know it’ll be worth it, but golly, we’re talking closer to two years!

That genuinely (genuinely) means a lot dudes, @Chap and @Oaktavia. Gotta admit, it's been a slog, as I'm sure it's been for you too, @Oaktavia, and I'm very sorry to hear about your losses. Losing one's shit enough, but two!?! holy smokes.

They're in my thoughts (fwiw) 💕💕💕

Exactly, @Dmart. I'm a PNW boot guy through and through, regardless, but one of the allures was that you'd not have to wait that long. Even White's are pushing into that 16-18-month timeframe for customs.

Oh well. As the saying goes, "all's well that ends well."
