@catdad1 This might comfort you in your decision: my experience with this shirt is that it does shrink (or at least mine did). I have received 3 of these:
- The first one got rained on once. Not heavy rain, but I still went ahead and followed the instructions to dry it (first between 2 towels to remove as much water as I could, then hung away from heat sources). Once dry, it had shrunk so much I could barely put it on any longer. To be fair, the experience revealed other issues (a hole, in some areas the leather was paper thin, in others it became incredibly stiff), so I don't think such a shrinkage was normal.
- Replacement had a couple of holes in it so I sent it back immediately.
- The 3rd shirt was in great shape. Couple of cool scars, but no holes, couple of thin areas but not see-through. I loved it. A year or so of light wear later, I began realizing the shirt felt a little tighter. Then that some of the stitches looked more strained than normal. Upon measuring it, I realized that its dimensions had gone from a size L to an M...
Aaaall that to say: it might be a blessing in disguise that yours is a little too large.
I've genuinely been considering selling my Big Buck, and came here today to see if there is a restock in XL on the horizon. I see that some people have reached out to Simmons Bilt for repairs, so I might explore that instead!
