RE: The Boulevard of Broken Jeans - The Unit 2 Repair Thread
wow holy guacamole what an amazing thread!! @JoshC beautiful work!! The cone on the Singer looks like so much fun to work on. I'm still fiddling with a reverse switch!
Some questions for you if ya don't mind
-how many shades of blue thread do you have besides the two in your video?
-the cotton you use for patches, is that the same cotton fabric used for IH Pockets?
-regarding patches, do you find that they help prevent tears from spreading further down from the holes you repair? As you can see in my photos below, the warp keeps breaking further down the length after each repair reinforces a section. I don't use patches, but maybe I should..Here are my 888's. All DIY repairs but i've definitely learned a few things from your repairs that i'll have to try next. Never thought about following the twist of the yarns to make the repair blend in, i've always gone perpindicular to the weft. On one hand it's kind of my signature repair look, on the other it's starting to be very noticeable. Only recently did I get a second spool of baby blue thread to help hide the repairs.

RE: Random questions to which you seek an answer
@flannel-slut Look up "lime oleo citrate". It is a method to yield a larger amount of flavorful lime juice from one lime than just squeezing it. It's used by bartenders to reduce waste and produce better tasting drinks.

RE: There's no Such Thing as a Stupid Question
I cannot imagine wearing 21oz beyond 27C/80F along with humidity but that's just me.
I'm sure like Alex said these guys are acclimated to the climate.I know that sweat is a huge contributor to blowouts and other tears so that's why I'm confused on how these guys are able to go so long without washing.

RE: There's no Such Thing as a Stupid Question
What is the secret behind the diehard IH folks in Southeast Asia (Vietnam, Thailand, etc) that their heavyweights have so much contrast? Is it the humidity? Being closer to the sun year round??

RE: IH-888S-21 - 21oz Selvedge Denim Medium/High Rise Tapered Cut Jeans - Indigo
Hey guys! First pair of IH's and first pair of heavyweight denim! Over the years I've gone through Nudie Slim Jims, two pairs of APC NS, a few months in Flathead F310s, and most recently a pair of UB201's.
I really liked the measurements on the 888s as far as a bigger thigh and higher rise compared to the UB201's. I'm posting here for a fit check, although I'm already two days in due to waiting for the IH forums registration.
This is a tag size 36. I'm 6' 1" or ~185 centimeters, 200lbs/90kg. The waist is just right for now while i'm standing and I'm hoping a little bit of stretch will make the waist a bit more comfortable
