      @Giles:

      I have no idea what a classic horseshoe ring is, but we sell this OGL version….

      https://www.ironheart.co.uk/accessories/jewellery2/OGL-RING-GL.html

      That one looks good as usual from Ironheart :). I was thinking something a bit smaller/less bulky though (not ready to wear anything too big) and maybe some details around the "shoe", see example below.

      Bringing this thread back to life!

      I want to get a classic horseshoe ring, gold or silver. Any advice who makes the nicest one around? Interesting in buying worldwide, but EU preferred. Any advice is appreciated!

      Recently bought a Larry Smith necklace similar to the one pictured below, with the addition of a gold rose pendant.

      However, the opening loop for the necklace tends to walk around and I cannot seem to keep this towards the back. It seems the necklace is missing something to center it on the opposite end by the feather.

      Anyone who has the similar problem and how do you deal with this?
      Thinking maybe something leather or so may be useful for centering, but havent really fiured out a good way to fixate it without the thread being overly thin.

      @Kingmob31:

      First Arrows I've seen is 950 silver. What's this about 920?

      Sorry, my bad. Meant to say 950 opposed to regular 925. I've read that the strength and oxidation may be different for the 950 silver than 925.

      Ideally, I'd like to get a Goro's silver / gold feather as below. This does not appear to be something Larry Smith offers. Only found it at First Arrows so far.

      Are there alot of fake Goro's feathers floating around? Anyone who can school me into getting the correct ones, or can direct me somewhere where I can do some reading?

      This is honestly the best thread I found for these kinds of things, but I may be looking in the wrong places. Appreciate any help.

      Bumping this thread.

      Just getting into jewelry. Been looking at rings for some time, but figure a necklace may be easiest to grace into.

      Really like the necklaces, especially the feather and eagle designs, from Goro's and other japanese artists. Been looking into Larry Smith and First Arrow's but the 920 silver for First Arrow's kind of puts me towards Larry Smith. Any others I should look into?

      Have a nice weekend!

      Any advice on small card wallets / card holders?

      I really dont carry more than 4 cards so I dont need much. Something that just abouts fits this or maybe a little more would be great.

      Jeweller didn't feel safe modifying it, so I'm at a loss.

      If anyone has an FLT ring around size 10 or so please let me know and maybe we can trade. A clean sale could also work…

      Here's the ring. size 11 I believe.

      here we go @johanhej pics of my friends FLT

      Thanks davito! That looks good. I went to NY local jeweller today. He'll have a look at it. Hopefully he can take it in by cutting it up at the bottom.

      Will be back with update 🙂

      @Cutlasshound:

      @johanhej:

      I bought myself a Fine Light Trading Marine ring. The craftmanship is amazing.

      Turns out I overshot the sizing slightly though… I bought an 11 while I need ~10. Anyone have experience with reducing the size of these, and how to go at it?

      If anyone has an FLT ring around size 10, let me know and maybe we can trade.

      I think you will struggle to get it resized. Based on my experience when i have had a ring resized they have heated the metal. I would imagine that this would risk ruining the brass elements of the ring.

      Any chance that you can return or exchange it?

      Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

      Thanks for response. Damn that doesnt sound good. I was hoping they could just cut it up in the bottom and braze it back together.

      I didn't buy directly from Innis, so I can't do that.

      I appreciate any other input I can get in the matter.

      Just got into this whole ring-thingy, and looking to get first signet kind of ring.

      Fine Light Trading items seems rad.

      I really like the OP-jewellery ones too.

      I'd prefer getting something from the east side of the pond. So, any advice on European manufacturers? OP-jewellery fulfills this, but I'm mostly just exploring my options.

      EDIT: typo

    • RE: The Real McCoys

      Anyone who can advice on the denim jackets from rmc?
      Having trouble finding one which fits relatively slim over the body, whilst still long enough over arms. The 927 (type III) looks pretty good, and from the measurements, it seems slim.
      However, measurements seem to vary significantly from
      http://global.rakuten.com/en/store/vintage/item/mj12035/
      to
      http://blueingreensoho.com/site/index.php?page=shop.product_details&flypage=shop.flypage&product_id=11481&category_id=&manufacturer_id=54&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=62
      Are there any official numbers to go by?

      I realize it's unsanforized, so probably safe bet to go with the bigger size, then do a prewash for shrinkage.
      The type II looks good too, but I guess it's slightly boxier.

      I'm a little torn too. I like the look of the coin pocket, but I don't see much use for it when I have a coin pocket on my jeans :).

      Any advice on nice reins to complement the wallet? The hollows looks nice.

      @Graeme:

      I've seen the Born + Bred wallets at Rivet and Hide. Danny sells a modified Biker with card slots on both sides, rather than the coin pouch. It even comes in black. 😃

      The Born + Bred pieces look nice. They're made of a thick leather, with heavy duty stitching, and I preferred them to the Obbi Good wallets.

      They do look really nice. I'm afraid that one would be slightly too big for my liking.
      I'd probably buy this one if it had fitting for rein…

      That headers looks really nice, any idea haw much they are?
      Where in Europe are you? I'm in the UK, I've been looking for a reasonably priced Mid Length wallet, they are few and far between over here. I had settled on the Pike Brothers Riders Wallet, they are supposed to be good for the money, but unfortunately they are sold out until the end of April
      http://pikebrothers.com/Produkt/rider-wallet/

      I have also been looking at these by Eastman Leathers new label ELMC,
      http://www.elmc.co/wallet-wear-and-belts/saddle-wallet
      but the Logo puts me off a bit,they are made by Born + Bred who also make there own mid length biker wallet, but I'm not sure about that either.
      http://www.bornandbredengland.com/product/biker-wallet
      as anyone seen any of these in the flesh?

      also can anyone recommend a wallet chain any recommendations?

      The headers looks really nice, but a little costly. Especially including import costs. He also seemed to be able to customize the size etc, and there were alot of different leather options depending on price.
      I can't find much reivews or so of headers work. While it really does look great, it'd be nice with some other pov.

      I'm in Sweden. The pike looks nice, but i'd like a black one. The logo on the Eastman is definetly a deal breaker to me  :P. The bornandbread actually looks pretty good. Would be nice to see it in black (and maybe black stitching).

      I don't understand why non of them are listing measurements. This is pretty much the most important thing to me. Please tell me if you find something more :).

      @Graeme:

      My guess would be anything up to around 5" / 13 cm should sit inside a back pocket happily.

      The original version of the Iron Heart / Manifold URA-02 had a ring for a lanyard. The new ones don't, but maybe Giles can get them fitted if there's another run done.

      Self Edge (and Rivet and Hide) sell the Wild Child wallet in black and natural / tan.

      Village Works sell a range of short wallets under the Redmoon and Pailot River brands. Take a look at Neolatine to see the range. There are a few extra bits and pieces on the Japanese version of their site.

      E2ND sell Crow (Kurobane) wallets, which is an offshoot of Redmoon. Again, there's a few short wallets that have or can be fitted with leashes. There are also a few old stock Redmoon pieces you won't see on Neolatine.

      Obbigood make short wallets, as do Herz.

      I've missed a few, and I don't really know the American makers.

      Thanks for links! Some good options there, but not quite what I'm looking for. Either are they too big, or the design is off. The OGL brave mid wallet could maybe work though, with some minor modification.

      @Seth:

      @johanhej:

      …What are my alternatives as for wallets like this one?...

      If you really like that wallet, you could buy that wallet. I believe it's made by Blackyrock in Elma, WA. Contact them and they'll make you one. I have one of their card holders and recognize the rein loop and construction. They make good products in the US at a discount compared to Japanese brands.

      Edit: here's a similar one with that rein in tan from Blackyrock:

      http://www.ebay.com/itm/blackyrock-wallet-Natural-vegtan-leather-coin-pouch-brass-ring-handmade-USA-/201053392193?pt=Wallet&hash=item2ecfb74d41

      Yes I forgot to mention it's from blackyrock. I also found an alternative from Headers Co. which I really fancy. One of those with 4.75-5" length and room for 5-6 cards would be pretty spot on i think.

      What kind of concerns me, is that I can't find much information about their work. I got an Angelos wallet and I'm really happy with that. How does it compare to the more known makers, like OGL, Angelos, Red Moon and maybe Iron Heart?

      I'm located in Europe, so there's no real preference as for location of manufacturing. Best thing would be from Europe ofcourse, due to import costs, but I leather workers seem more rare around here.

      Looking for a basic grey hoodie, and kind of had my eye on the one from real mccoys. I can't find it anywhere in Europe though :/. Anyone who know somewhere which might stock them?

      Advice on other, similar hoodies, to fit a relatively slim figure are also welcome 🙂

    • RE: IH-526Jod - Overdyed Type III

      Thanks for quick response!

      I have a leather jacket which I measured. The fit of this one is just great when worn over a hoodie. It's a medium rocknblue. I seem to be somewhere between M and L in most brands.

      P2P=55 cm
      Bottom opening=48
      Shoulder=48 (might be able to do with slightly narrower here)

      Should I expect the jacket to stretch a little? I'm guessing a denim jacket should be worn a little smaller than a leather jacket. Also, regarding the arms, are they pretty regular in width?

      EDIT: The leather jacket might have wider p2p on paper than it's appearance, due to the extra leather in the back (motorcycle cut i think). It's fairly snug over chest when i pull shoulders back.

      EDIT2: Tracked down a Levis 72510 jacket in size M. Believe this is their standard fitting size. It's too big in chest and around stomach. It measures 56cm p2p and whopping 52cm shoulder.

      Man do I want that overdyed jacket (in a fitting size :)). The shoulder measurement really concerns be on the 526Jod. It doesnt look that narrow on the pictures though. I have relativly narrow shoulders for me length, but 43 cm on the 38 seems really slim.

      Any other 6 footers wearing the 38?

    • RE: IH-526Jod - Overdyed Type III

      I'm sorry for the noob question, but I really don't have any denim jacket to measure on, so I don't have much reference. The only kind of hard measurement reference is this shirtlooking jacket from indigofera. In small, it was way wide over the stomach. http://rivetandhide.com/categories/jackets/indigofera-fargo-selvedge-shirt-fabric-9.html#cm
      I've been holding off denim jackets for too long, thinking the denim on denim might be slightly too much. This thing looks amazing.

      How are these as per fitment? Would it be considered slimmer fitting than average, or are all the type 3's fairly equal?

      The upper arm measurements is not listed, but would it be considered average, or on the big/lower side?

      I'm 183, 79 kilos with a somewhat athletic build, contemplating whether to go with 38 or 40. Thanks for any help in the matter.
