A few pics from our current stay in Florence + side trip in Siena. I'm experimenting with a couple sets of custom settings (aka recipes), so although those are all straight out of the camera, they were processed by the camera differently.

New camera day. I’ve been getting frustrated with the bulk of my Canon slr and will try a new approach: small body, single prime fixed lens, new ecosystem… The camera itself is very pretty and well made.

This is my new grail (dress) watch: Laurent Ferrier Classic Origin Beige. As they say, if I won the lottery, I wouldn't tell, but there would be signs...

In the past, I've found the Czapek to be a bit disappointing, in that the face is bland compared to the back. Well, that's no longer the case thanks to their new release, the 10th Anniversary Time Jumper. It features a double digit time jump based on clear sapphire disks rotating over a blue colored plate. I think it's stunning. Not an everyday watch of course... (Also exists in gold.)

Just heard back from MB&F that I was picked for their M.A.D.2 raffle (I have entered the raffle each time). So this should be coming to me in the next few weeks or months. Not too excited to pay 31% tariff on it. Maybe I'll get lucky. Fourth green dial watch...
M.A.D. is the (much!) lower priced small series production from MB&F. It uses a La Joux-Perret G101 movement with a custom jumping hour module.

Grand Seiko released a new iteration of its 37mm hand wound model. What makes it particularly exciting is (1) the bead of rice bracelet, which is amazing, and (2) a soft silver face, which is probably the most ever pleasing dial treatment one can want. I bought the bracelet separately and put it on a different iteration of the same watch and I love it.

I made some country-style pate over the week end.

Made the Ottolenghi's coconut dream cake again, this time as a 2-layer round cake. Just as good as a sheet cake, but looks better.

This is what I had yesterday night. Homemade Vietnamese style banh mi sandwich, with chicken. Was delish!
