    • RE: IH-634-UHR - Ultra Heavy - Straight Cut Jean

      @Giles:

      Depends what size your 634S actually were when new/are now…

      And take into account that the UHR will shrink and stretch as per the product description.

      I guess I should have measured before I sent them in for a repair. Right now I'm debating between picking up a pair of the 634UHRs now and then getting a pair of the 634OD Blacks in November, or just waiting till November for the ODs.  I guess I'm not sure if the UHRs are different enough from the standard 634s to warrant me getting them.

      It isn't that the UHRs are cool, I'm just not sure if I'm developed enough in my taste to warrant it.  And if I do pick up a pair I'd rather the waist didn't stretch to much.

      Decisions … decisions.

      Thanks for the help Giles, I do appreciate it.

      Question on sizing of the UHRs - I'm a 38 in 634S, should I stick with a 38, or move up a size?

      @Giles:

      H has never mentioned kevlar and it does not float my boat enough to initiate…...sorry.....

      I can totally understand this - I guess I just want a pair of jeans that will last me 40+years - I'm sure my IH's will last a good long time, but I walk a TON living in SF and having a dog so crotches tend to go long before the rest of the pair is ready to give up the ghost.

      You want Kevlar to walk your dog in!? LOL

      If you get crotch blowouts too soon you need to wash or soak your jeans more. Or get a looser fit.

      2X2 miles a day with San Francisco hills … and I'm already rocking 634's and all the looser IH fits have rises that are to high. If I size up an more I'll need to get the waists tailored - the 38's I wear in IH are already fairly loose in the waist while just fitting in the thighs.

      I want to start by saying; my IHS-634 are my favorite jeans of all time. I've finally found a pair of jeans that fit my body-type [been lifting weights for 20+years], the fabric is the nicest denim I've ever laid hands on … everything about these jeans is perfect and I love them!

      I would be curious if IH would ever produce a kevlar-weave-denim pair ... in 634?  I've seen a couple of different brands do this, but none of them have the cut/finish/workmanship of IH. Specifically, I [personally] would love a pair of jeans in the 21-25oz range with kevlar incorporated into the weave for abrasion resistance.

      I don't know if this is something IH has ever considered, would ever consider, or if I'm just dumb for even starting this.

    • RE: Random questions to which you seek an answer

      Hey - with the advent of an "EXTANT" 1955 cut jean; does anyone know if there are any plans for a fuller cut chino/khaki/duck-workpant?  I'd love to be able to rock IH heavy-weight khaki/chinos to work, but all of the current styles are far to slim in the thigh for me to fit-into.

    • RE: IH-1955S

      Hey G - Is there ever a chance of doing this cut in the 25oz?  I'm hoping to have the funds for a pair of these when you restock, but would love the chance to pick up a pair in the 25oz as well …

      As someone who hits the gym regularly my legs have a hard time fitting into the standard IH straight cut jeans [read; it looks like to much sausage stuffed into to little casing … ]

      I haven't missed the restock on these have I? 😠

      The larger thigh measurement on these is exactly what I need!

    • RE: IH-634-XHS - 25oz Selvedge Denim Straight Cut Jeans - Indigo

      New to the forum and to Iron Heart generally - I have a quick question on fit with these jeans:

      I'm a weightlifter/powerlifter and often have trouble finding pants that will fit.  I generally have to purchase size 40+ waist pants and have the waist taken in to a 34-36 to get pants that fit my legs.

      I've measured a pair of pants of mine that fit well and the thigh sits at just a hair over 14 inches.  I've noted that the thigh measure on the 36's in the 634's is 13.8".  I've also read the posts that most people get a little stretch out of the denim with wear in the waist.  Does anyone have experience with stretch in the thigh as well?

      I'm in this weird position where I would actually like to shrink the waist by about an inch or so and get no stretch, but would love an extra inch in the thigh.

      Any suggestions with this?
