Heh, actually being this stiff they never really cling to your skin. Makes for more air circulation around the jewels than other jeans I own

About the climate…
When I first spotted the 25oz in a shop in Singapore (Tuck Shop/Obbi Good) I asked the sales guy if people really seriously wear that kind of jeans in local weather.
First thing I got was a completely blank incomprehending look and then: "Errr, yes. We are free to wear what we want around here.". The guy didn't even realize that some people might find this a little warmish...

Started wearing these again for the first time in ages (6mth+). Moved to SE-Asia more than a year ago and needed some time to gather the courage to wear them in 30C/80% humidity but it's actually quite doable.
A lil irritated right now cause I need to readjust to the "leg shackle"-feel I get from a 25oz double cuff…

Please don't. These are no hip hop Timberlands that need to be spotless and clean. Hawthornes (at least the Iron Rangers) NEED to look greasy.

Let me rephrase: why would anyone want/need 25 oz denim? I love my 25 oz 634 to bits but even after a month of solid wear taking two steps at once on the stairs is difficult. Same goes for getting on/off a bike. 25 oz IS comfortable but it DOES impede movements so much that I would draw the line there.

Because these were at the limits of what is possible.  Indeed, we thought at one point the factory that does the weaving would say they just were not prepared to carry on.

Well kind of. The final decision for these fell, when I realized that among other things they are a brilliant substitute for sneakers in this colourway.

These boots are beautifully crafted but surprisingly hefty/stiff. Will definitely need some breaking in which I did not expect.

Nice boots, but I'm afraid you will need something else if you intend to run around outside in a moscow winter.

Just ordered these babies:

I needed something that will work reasonably well in winter here and then for 3 years in SE Asia. I've never been so unsure about correct sizing when ordering online.

This one is it for me  for the time being. I have a Filson tincloth trucker which is reasonably close to the duck jacket and I really like to wear it outside. The IHD-01 now will stay on my back all day long since it can be worn indoors as well. I feel stupid running around in the office/workshop wearing a jacket.

When I came out of the changing room the girl in the shop asked me if I had hurt myself because I obviously looked in pain.
These soften up "fairly" quick.

G., I'm glad I asked for sizing advice. I definitely would not have wanted this one to fit to tight.

I second pretty much everything that has just been said.
These are really surprisingly comfortable, really stiff in the beginning but not uncomfortably so. They have no "cardboard feeling", that's the best expression I can think of. They do severly restrict movement in the beginning, though. The first couple of days I was NOT able to adjust the cuffs without taking them off (and no, that's not because they are too tight  ;)). Also I tend to take two steps at a time when climbing stairs, a feat that became doable again only after about 10 days of wear.
All in all: I once decided never to fall for what I perceived as the super heavyweight hype (i.e >21oz), thinking that 21 oz IH would be the limit for me. I wouldn't have fallen for these if they hadn't been the anniversary model of my favourite denim dealern(VMC in Zürich). I can report that I am more than happy that I changed my mind
