At around 80-90 wears. A hand wash and machine wash in. I sit on my ass in a chair most the day wearing them, so nothing too wild. I am surprised I don’t have as much honeycombing as others on here. My 25oz IH’s are similar.
I am pleasantly surprised how much lighter these 21oz feel than the 25oz. Great for the Texas summers. I’ll probably be switching to the 25oz soon to get more wear in.
I had these hemmed, while I leave my 25 oz cuffed.
Had the pants hemmed, and now have a weeks wear. Overall the fit is great. I had them hemmed a tad long but should allow for some good stacking.
The 21oz vs my 25oz seem 100x cooler in this Texas summer. I wore my 25oz for basically the last year straight so these are a welcomed relief.
Since I tore my hamstring, I still can’t tie shoes. I busted out these Red Wing Heritage shoes I bought almost 3 years ago and had never worn.. I’m able to slip them on and I’ve taken a solid liking to them!
I measured them against my very well worn 777-XHS denim and they were identical except the waist was .5” small and rear rise about .4” longer on the new pair. My xhs are a tad tight (but I wear them near daily) so assuming I can get around .3” or so in the top box/thighs, they will be perfection. If not, should still fit great once broken in. I think the measurements (on paper) of going to the next size up will be a bit more than I’m looking for.

Hi all - looking for a quick fit check. My understanding is that these being sanforized and unwashed, no shrinkage is to be expected and around .5”-1” stretching in certain areas, is that correct? Also, does that mean I can get them hemmed without washing prior?
Here’s a few pics. Seem good but I also tore my hamstring recently so I’m unable to sit or really move around to see how they feel in much more than a standing position. They’re a tad tight in the top box as they currently sit, but if I can expect a .5” of stretch once worn in, I think they’ll be perfect.
Pardon the sloppy cuffs, just rolled them up to make easier to get on/off.

Re: the sideways photos.
1. select to edit your photo and rotate it sideways. Save it.
2. edit it again and then rotate it back vertical. save it.
3. now it will appear correctly when you post.it's a weird and annoying phone glitch.

Great advice by everyone (and insanely quick). I’ve been creeping this forum for years but just joined with the questions on the 25 oz. I have several other IH clothing items I’ll be posting up in their respective threads.
With the soak, the shortened inseam should shrink the size of the cuff a bit, in which case I think I may be fine to keep it. The current size pre-soak was a bit larger than I prefer..
Going to be a tough choice! I have a while to decide while I continue to break them in.
Picked these up about a month ago. Started with the 34 but the top box was way too big, so exchanged for teh 33. The 33 is excellent. I prefer a lower rise in pants, but these work just fine. The material quality and general quality of the components is fantastic. I would expect nothing less. This was my first pair of Iron Heart pants, and they did not disappoint (already had 3 long sleeves which are also fantastic). For reference, 5’9, 165 lbs, small waist and larger quads.
Thanks for the input! Did a quick soak last night then in the washing machine on warm (bit under 100F by feel) and let them agitate a little then pulled them out.
They were still damp this morning, but I put them on and did about 20 ass to grass squats in them. I think they’ll be good.
My other two pairs of selvedge denim (Japan Blue) are cuffed. I’m considering hemming the XHS just so I have a pair that’s different.
Is hemming something I could always do down the road (6+ months) and not have to worry about it impacting any fades? Seems like if I had them hemmed to the same length as the bottom of the cuff, they should be fine.
The soak plus machine wash is really only recommended by IH for the UHR. You don’t need to do both.
You’re right about the doing an initial soak/wash that is as warm/robust as what your normal cycle will be. I wash my jeans at 40C, low spin, so i tend to soak XHS at 50C and give them a wiggle around in the tub.
A rule of thumb with XHS is that they will stretch back to pre soak dims with wear. So the 0-3-0.5” you loose in the thigh will come back. Barring a few days of discomfort, I think you’ll be fine.

Thanks for the quick response! I’ll follow that above and do the soak/wash with warm water, and moving forward I typically just do mostly soaks unless I spill red wine on my favorite denim (lessons learned lol).
The photo yesterday was just put on after work as a fit check.
Thoughts on the fit? The thighs could use a bit more room, but the top block has plenty of room and certainly doesn’t need to go bigger (below the knees is perfect as well).
While the thighs are tight, it seems that a good part of that is due the weight/stiffness of the fabric.
Hi all - first post on the site and this is my first pair of 25 oz denim. My other denim is cuffed, however I would like to hem these, but want to make sure I follow the right process.
A couple items:
1. Fit right now is good. They are definitely tight, but not too tight. My concern is that any shrinking could make them unwearable (primarily in the thighs).
2. I’ve attached a couple fit pics below. Based on what I’ve read in this thread, it sounds like I should soak them in hot water, then machine wash warm, to get all the shrink out (shrinking to ensure I don’t get adjustments in fade locations). Again, please take a look at the pics and see if that could make these unwearable.
3. Would it be an option to just soak them in warm water and agitate, and then for the life of the jeans, do the same as the cleaning method? That way I wouldn’t have to worry about additional shrinkage down the road? Seems if I had to wash them, I could simply use cold water?
Size 33 - I’m 5’9 & 165 lbs.
