I got the indigo Ramblin jacket last October and the fit and pocket layout is so perfect. I live just outside of Portland so I’m able went in and was happy to see they still had size medium and large in stock. Almost got the large but really glad I went medium, especially after wearing a while it fits like a glove. Obviously insanely good quality all over as well.
It made me discover and settle on iron heart for my next denim purchase honestly. I want a slightly shorter, slimmer denim jacket in black. I tried on the 14oz OD at self edge and the fit was perfect, but I decided to hold out for a heavier jacket.
Still might go for the 14OD also just because it felt great, but in no rush. For now the Ramblin is getting all the love.
It’s already traveled to Italy and now Costa Rica with me but definitely can’t say enough good things about Ship John.

@Mister_Brue haha thanks, curious mainly. I can’t imagine how hickory fades compared to denim, but my older Ben Davis shirts, no indigo, have faded out and do look good so I’m sure a quality piece like this will be cool. Also my Ben Davis shirts have gotten like crazy, t shirt soft so i wonder if this will too

@Mister_Brue right on, yea it makes more sense as a summer night jacket. And guitar seemed perfect, nothing at all on the right side. I’ve found some chips and scratches into the back of my guitar and realized it was from pocket rivets

Also, I can’t tell, is this a one off or does seasonal mean it will be made again? And anyone have a shots of fading on this bad boy??

Im on the fence for this one.. looks like it has a nice fit and looks great, but do y'all feel it to be more like a shirt/overshirt vs wearing like a jacket? Does it feel pretty thin ? I wear Ben Davis half zip hickory shirts a lot and I think those are 7oz so this doesn’t seem much heftier than those, and those feel pretty thin to me

I also tend to mainly wear jackets at work to get extra pockets.
Bittersweet in a way because the lack of pockets would be nice for playing guitar and at work because I operate machinery (print shop), so not having too much going on in the front is a good thing, but also need to be able to put tools somewhere
I also wouldn’t mind adding some big bag pockets inside though, best of both worlds there

looking at the measurements these seem to run slightly smaller than the grey, I see you have both and does that seem to be the case?
I got the grey recently in Large and although it fits great, it’s snug in the chest/trap area, so I’m wondering if i should go XL in the camel.

Kersey is such a comfy fabric I’m hooked now

What size are people going with? I’m torn between a medium which will probably fit or large so I can layer under it. I’m 5’9” and like 160-165lbs but a 42-43” chest so I usually have to size up for shirts/jackets. For reference a 526-14OD type iii in XL(42) fit me perfect and the Large(40) 526LOD I tried was too tight even with a tshirt. Thanks!

Right on, I kind of figured it was just from the sleeve creases.
Still going back and forth on this model. I tried one on and the fit was so perfect but I’m kind of holding out for the 526LOD.. I’m covered for 14oz indigo and want a black jacket, and want to try a heavyweight
I’m sure I’d be happy with it but could see myself buying the 526LOD if I get a chance and it’s similar enough to this model that I’m not sure I’d rock both enough to justify it decisions, decisions.
