@T4920 thanks Tom. It’s been a lot of fun. My current theory is that the MRMF absorbs something of the character of every previous wearer and temporarily transfers the total to the current wearer, like some kind of superpower. I definitely feel a bit taller when I’m wearing it.

I made it to the Samurai exhibition at the BM. And yes, #3 is an aubergine inspired helmet.

Black and indigo are easy combos. Time to try something different.

      Today’s inspo:

Thanks @Jett129 . That means a lot coming from you. Not trying to sell myself short, just aware of the gap between conception and realisation and little details I might change if I had unlimited time and patience.

@gazza61 thanks. Not sure if everything has worked but it’s better to try …

@endo they will, and I really hope it’s someone unexpected.

It’s really too warm for the Mad Red today (as you can probably tell) but sometimes you have to suffer for the cause. Besides, who could resist so many dirty mirrors in one place!

@sabergirl thanks. I’m enjoying my leg so far but it’s good to know I’m not the only one! I still have a few more ideas to try before I pass it on.

Thanks @goosehd. I see this thread (and the forum in general) very much as a joint effort, so I’m not really bothered about attribution. I appreciate the clarification though.

@endo it’s as much (or more) for the locals. If the sun comes out any time after about March they wander around half naked, especially if they don’t have the body for it.

@endo it’s not that bad really, but it’s the sort of place where supermarkets have signs asking people to wear clothes when shopping in the summer!

As some of you know, although I live well inland my work is based on the coast and I usually spend a couple of nights down there each week. Like Gosport, Littlehampton is one of the least glamorous places on the south coast and also has a nickname referencing a somewhat more famous US city (in this case “LA” - it makes sense if you drop the h).

Anyway I brought the Mad Red with me for this week’s stay and took it on a walk on the beach and along the river as the light was fading.

I know, enough talking. You want pics!

    • RE: IHJ-155-BLK - Horsehide Suede Modified Type III Jacket - Black

@Buckeye, I did (we know it’s about measurements not tag size, and the L measurements in this aligned with the measurements for my existing type IIIs in XL). I think it worked for me and I hope it does for you (assuming you managed to order one).

Mine is now here and everyone was right about the look, the smell and the feel of the leather, and the sleeves don’t feel as long as the measurements suggest. It will leave little bits of black fluff on whatever you wear underneath, but I expect that won’t last.

Pics will have to wait. If I get out of the office tonight before the light goes I have more time-sensitive pics to take.

    • RE: The Very Awesome Bremen Party Tour Jacket (TVAT)

@endo I don’t think this one’s for me but I’ll enjoy seeing what everyone does with this. Besides, if you keep expanding the European tour, the jacket will never make it across the pond.

I wonder if @goosehd’s initial experience with the sleeves on his 156 might be enlightening as it’s the same leather.

Took the Mad Red to church earlier and a friend’s son gave it a go. I don’t think he was convinced but I think he can pull it off.
