Hope everything goes well today @Kasi
I have to say this discussion is feeding my paranoia about September. Let’s hope it’s relatively painless for all of us going to Baltimore.

@weftyarn this reminded me of an ad campaign Lee ran years ago. Maybe the guy should’ve done a sweat soak first to avoid marbling

@endo thanks. Who doesn’t like a dragon?
@Denimhead-0 thanks. I should probably wear it more. It gets a lot of love in the real world whenever I bring it out.
I spotted this guy through my bathroom window. Unfortunately he was a bit camera shy and flew away when I tried to get a shot from the other side. Possibly a Jersey Tiger.

@WhiskeySandwich I can relate, although the corridors at work are not wide enough for this. I’ll resist the urge to let rip on all my gripes about pedestrians in public spaces, but I hate it when groups of individuals and couples change course to create a solid barrier across the full width of the street and force anyone coming the other way to do an emergency 90° turn so they can get round the end of the approaching phalanx. That and people who insist on going round shops in groups of 6-8 plus.
@mclaincausey Bronze Age life would probably be very different to what we expect from “ancient Greece” as we’re going back maybe another 500 years or so (this is an extension of @Nick’s point). Life, dress, armour, social structure would not be what we’ve been conditioned to expect. I guess this is one of the things Nolan had to address. Would something more authentic to the original period look more wrong to us than a blend of our expectations of ancient Greece and modern sensibilities? Maybe authenticity is the wrong standard for a story that’s been retold and reinterpreted so many times.
I probably should see it before sharing further thoughts!
I might have to go and see the Odyssey for myself but I’ve already been to the cinema this year (my last three trips were in 2017, 2024 and 2026). I do get out (honest) but not usually to see films!

I’m enjoying this discussion and thanks to @Oaktavia for starting it. This is definitely one of those situations where there are no right answers. Unless I’m off work, I only get to wear IH three days a week and so I like to ring the changes. Fades will come with time but I’m happy to take the long view and focus on different combinations.
Sure, I’ll lean more towards and away from different items at different times but there’s also an emotional aspect for me. I tend to lay out what I’m going to wear before going through the bathroom as part of my morning routine and sometimes I just don’t feel a particular outfit even if it’s perfect for my plans, weather, etc. By the time I’ve made a few substitutions I’ll know I’ve landed where I need to be.
I think it’s similar to the way I listen to music. I might have favourite artists and albums (long term or for a season) but I could never just listen to one or two records on my commute. There are also times when an absolute favourite fails to hit the spot and after a few mishits I land on something that’s perfect for a particular moment (maybe something completely unexpected that I’d forgotten about or something new). If I can capture that feeling when I’m getting dressed, there’s at least a chance I’ll have a good day.
Anyway, that might just be me. I love that other people do things differently. If everyone was like me, the world would be a truly terrible place!
Just started The Sentinels (2/8 watched) and will definitely keep going unless it goes off the rails later. If you can cope with people speaking French and a certain amount of blood it may be worth a try.
@Mizmazzle these weren’t available at the time, it’s the IHG sticker that’s travelling with the Mad Red.
@Oaktavia I’m sure I’ll find uses for it, I just need to find my way!
These do look good. No idea how I’ll use it but I should have one waiting for me when I get home from work tomorrow!
I hadn’t thought about the sticker until I saw @Mizmazzle’s pic but it’ll be cool to have another one (the one I picked up at the IHG party went into the bag of bits that travels with the MRMF to commemorate one of the highlights of my leg).
@Giles if this is what I think it is, it could last for a couple of weeks. Everything will taste wrong until one day it doesn’t. Lemon or ginger might give you some temporary relief.
@goosehd I saw this a minute or two before you shared it. Good to hear that it’s a fair distance away from you.
