Note to self.
In future, if I am getting into the dinghy from the swim platform of SAKURA, and i intend (or otherwise) to do a gentle and very elegant backward flip into the sea, then I should zip up the pocket that contains my mobile phone. Phones are heavier than water and when you are upside down, they escape pretty easily.
Now, trying to get into my account to order another phone is impossible, because the only way I can get into my account is to get 2 factor authentication code sent to my phone, which is in 12 meters or water.
Vodafone you fucking suck.

It was actually originally meant to be just the first paragraph, and was not intended to be a rant.
But I was on the phone to Vodafone whilst I was typing and as a result, it mutated into a rant.
After 3 attempts, I found a CS guy that actually knew what me was talking about, and he came up with a great solution. But it does require me to have a phone that accepts eSIMS. Waddya know? @AdamJ has a spare one on his desk....

Maybe this should be in random rants, but hopefully it’s positive in a few weeks. Had back surgery a few days ago to deal with some sciatica and movement issues. I’m not loving the recovery in the middle of a heatwave. Don’t expect any fit pics for a while either, old shorts and t shirts are the order of the day, in case the dressing leaks.

@NickD I couldn’t even begin to imagine what you must be going through. Wishing you a speedy recovery mate

@NickD Hoping for a quick recovery! keep up the walking, it was the best thing for me after while I still couldn't lift anything

@Giles I am going to continue on your "rant"...I'm tired of two factor authentication, password resets and passwords rejected as you used them previously (a longish time ago), back up emails, recovery emails, pin numbers (quick keys), cloud prompts, etc...
Then Laura has used me as recovery email notifications and I get her email stating someone is trying to get into her account.
Then Apple updated their latest Tahoe and I had to log back in this morning and remember a password that I rarely use...
Sorry, old guy yelling at the clouds...

@Giles why don't you dive and get that phone back?
