There's a great sleazy burger joint near here where you can get deep fried tater tots instead of fries…
They call em tater gems, and they pretty much kick ass

Sonic drive ins are in basically every town in Texas and they sell tater tots (deep fried, of course).  I love that place.

On a related note, anyone who doesn't love fresh hot french fries has a shriveled up raisin for a soul.
