It is now almost 6 days with this denim for me. Had it on my legs at 30°C and boy it way so warm on the inside. I'm already seeing some electric blue showing up around the crotch area and I suspect the crotch will probably blow out sooner for me. I'm loving every bit of this denim.

Hi all. Just picked up a pair from a local IH purveyor. I wanted to get your opinion on the fit. I have been wearing 888s the last year, but I wanted a more trim fit. Thighs seem a little snug, but not uncomfortably so. I was also able to get the buttons done up without too much drama. Any feedback would be much appreciated. Also, I attached a picture of the middle seem in the crotch (I’m sure it has a more professional name). Does the stitching here look normal?  I’m assuming it’s just the nature of the heavy denim.

@Soleamp fit looks good. Just like the 666 is supposed to, I’d say.

The stitching looks right. The bar tack is necessary on such heavy denim and the constructional stitching has a lot to do holding those felled seams together.

@neph93 Thanks for the awesome feedback as always. I was looking at how the stitching was pulling apart a bit, but if you say it is good, that’s good enough for me.

I was planning on doing a hot soak to get it over with right away and pull out any shrinkage. I really want to do that as I usually cuff and leave leave them. Am I going to regret that?

I soak them straight away if they fit comfortably out of the box. If they are a bit snug and I don’t want to risk it, I wear them first for stretch and break them in prior to any soak.

@Dmart Thanks, I think I might chance it as they aren’t crazy tight.

Start with a cold/ lukewarm soak if you are not sure, that’s what I do if I don’t need to shrink them much.

Yeah, I just went for it. I want to get as much shrink out as I can, even if it means a few weeks of discomfort. I will know tomorrow…

The waist will be uncomfortable for a couple wears, though you'll knock out a bunch in the first wear if you just power through.  I think the overall fit benefits from getting the shrinkage out of the rest of the fabric, also making sure you know where the hem and knee creases will settle
"Middle seam in the crotch" is a lot of joinery coming together, I wouldn't worry about it, yours looks good.  Gonna post some pics/changes post soak?

If you want to get the shrink out of the way, you’re going to have to agitate them a good bit. Not just soak them.

@Joberwocky Yep, will definitely post some after pics once they are dry and I can get them back on, haha. Are you in Philly?

@xtcclassic OK, thanks. I did soak them in the washer and let them agitate on delicate for a bit, but not too much…so we will see.

OK, here are some post hot soak/mild agitation pics. Dried hanging up overnight inside and outside in the sun today. They are much tighter in the waist and very stiff, haha, but I was able to get them buttoned and sit down. So, I guess that’s not too bad, but I don’t think I’m getting my phone/wallet/knife in there for a bit.

Looks good @Soleamp , you got them on so half the battle out of the way.  I agree, gotta log some time, they stretch back out in the waist nicely.  Personally I had to get used to the coin pocket before it was broken in, the extra 25oz in my right pocket felt funny at first
