        @Madame:

        Is anybody else thinking that since I started helping more at IHHQ, G seems to have a bit too much time on his hands…?

          oh boy, I hot soaked (steaming hot) my SRs and the waist went from 31 to 28!  I didn't even let the top of the waist band touch the water.

          Right when I took it out of the the water my face went  😞

          it took me 30 minutes to get all but the top button (wet, doing tons of squats on each button).  another 30 minutes later I buttoned them and got them back to a 30.  I should be ok if I can get them to stretch a bit more tomorrow.  Anyone think I am ok?  😉

          Oddly, the rest of the jean did not shrink that much, the waist band just tapered in big time.

            to avoid topblock shirinkage, get a good piece of wood say 5" wide. Cut it to proper lenght, 31" in your case, and use that when drying jawns. Place the wood in buttoned waist. That'll take care of the extra shrinkage.

                  My W29 SR have ended up just shy of 30" at the waist.

                    my little niece (who is 4 going on 54!) calls that type of ailment 'old-timers disease' . . . (Alzheimer’s) . . . personally, I think her take on the word is waaay more accurate  😉

                      thanks for the advice on the piece of wood.  I think I might be fine just soaking/washing in cold water from here on out.  31 is a pretty snug fit so when they were 28 I paniaced quite a bit  😉

                        So two weeks ago the contractor said the kitchen renovation would be done in 4 days. We went out of town for Spring Break and got back Sunday. Kitchen is bombed. Contractor says it will be done in 3 days. Why do I not have countertops yet? And when will the cabinets be refinished? And when do I get to move back into my house? And why does my house still look like an abandoned construction site, dammit?

                        Maybe this should have been posted in the random rants…

                          Sound like every remodel I've ever done.

                                Never really expected it to go according to "schedule". Mostly I'm just tired of living in a condo with my inlaws. Realistically, I was planning for double the time, but we hit that and still haven't made it past the demolition stage. There is probably still two weeks of work to be done, so a job that was predicted to take 1 week is looking like it will be 4. At least we haven't blown the budget. Yet.
