Let me rephrase: I don’t recall having seen so many pics of Gilles smilling in such a short time. Clearly this trip must have been a lot of fun.

How come you didn’t keep any of those pollock? (Coalfish) are they out of season? And could you  please explain the maelstrom to me. I understand tides. I love on the tidal area of the Housatonic river here in CT. We have strong tidal pull here. But what’s this maelstrom stuff about?

          Maybe so. Maybe not

@Matty123 The coalfish are delicious, I eat them all the time. It was G&P’s last day and we squeezed the fishing into a bit of time we had before their flight. We basically went straight to the airport with a brief stop to pick up bags. G&P couldn’t eat them and gutting and filleting was too time consuming.

The maelstrom is sometimes erroneously referred to as a whirlpool. It is actually made up of many whirlpools in motion. It is formed in a channel between two fjords. The sea floor of each fjord is at a different height so when the tide is going in or out the water either rushes in or rushes out in a very violent manner over the uneven sea bed. This causes extremely powerful, and conflicting currents.
