@Richard - those fades are looking killer!  the wear points are giving off some nice electric blue

@Appfaff - this is really comfy denim.  the 777 cut is hit & miss for me but Im with you on these 142's, I love wearing them.

It’s nice to see, I’d admit. The jeans really tightened up after the first 30C wash, around the thigh and crotch, not so much the waist, but are softening up with three wearings. Not being remotely used to heavy denim (you guys probably think 14oz isn’t heavy….), I’m finding breaking in jeans seriously challenging. And have a pair of 555-03s in my closet. Gulp.

After a weeks wear they will be back where you were before the wash. Sounds like you sized perfectly.

They are looking very nice indeed. But you’re right, 14oz isn’t even medium weight in my book [emoji1]

@Richard - I too find the 142 denim to snug up with a wash, but like @Neph93 said, it will stretch back and then some past initial measures. One funny thing I’ve noticed is the 142 does not have the natural “give” that the 21oz has… I almost feel like the 21oz indigo has some inherent stretch to it due to the weave, but the 142 is much less giving, Especially pre stretch.

Love the smooth face of the denim, and after 3 washes, mine not has almost no sheen to it - looks very old school - I dig it.

Thanks fellas. Tbh, I found the 142 really, really stiff at first. Couldn’t cross my legs…...

Worn five times post first wash, waist is now fine, but rest of top block still very right and stiff. Really love these. Excuse the jacket…...

777 top block is small for sure. But these look very nice indeed. The 555 has more room but a slightly slimmer leg if you’re ever inclined to go that way.

Btw… what was that about a jacket? I din’t understand....

Lol. Apropos the jacket I have my eye on the Storm Rider when it’s restocked. If I can make the arm length work. Thanks about the 555s. I have the 03 and you are so right. Very comfortable in the top block. Still, these 777s are slowly getting back to pre wash.

Hmmm… on the whole I would support that, but none of the IH cuts have a truly low rise. I have a robust posterior and can get away with the 777, just about, although I do far prefer the rise of the 888.

Six months wear, nice fit before wash, but one cold wash and twenty odd wearings later these still aren’t stretched and remain uncomfortable. The waistband has an inch to spare, but the ass and upper thighs still really tight. Can walk, but not squat. Tying shoelaces is a task…. Lol. Have any old hands any advice? Should I persevere, or give up and switch instead to the 555 01 (I have the 555 03, sized to the prewash 777 14, and these post soak, while still tough, are soooo much better). Cheers.

Dii ok not give up, after the 3-4th wash process, they stretch back out within a few hours.

I’ve never had much mobility in my pair, and In a big guy, so I just always tie my shoes before buttoning my jeans.

I will say, turn the inside out, give them a heavy steam iron session, and out back in immediately and just sit in a low chair for a bit.

I also tend to throw my wallet in my front pockets when doing remedial tasks like sitting at my computer, and then remove it - it seems to stretch the thighs 🙂

I think the fact that your 555’s are comfier than your 777’s suggests they are just too damn small. Should be the other way around.
