Not much evo on my broken twill…though I have grown to like the hat more as the denim has relaxed.
Maybe I’ll break out/ in my sashiko version at some point. Anyone got some close up evo shots of theirs to share?
In the easy chair with my boots on, melted whiskey in my hand. Could'na been asleep for more than three hours...time to go to work again...

@Mizmazzle I wear my Sashiko at home everyday. I’ll try to post some daylight pics tomorrow. It’s got a little bit of evo going.
That broken twill is looking real nice!!! I have not touched mine yet. What has been done to yours, as far as washing and wearing?

I soaked mine in near boiling water for a few minutes then set it out in the sun to dry. It was still a bit tall for my liking so I soaked it in near boiling water again a couple weeks after the first time.I’ve worn it hiking and around town etc on days I wanted to wear a hat. Probably 2-3 times a week.
I wasn’t loving it for quite a while. But it’s relaxed and taken some shape and I’m really digging it now.

Speaking of evolution, been wearing my Sashiko ori almost daily. Just did a hot wash and dry to try to get a little more shrink out of it and can start to see some of the fading. Also wearing the ship John lug sole wesco

@Mizmazzle I got to take some sunlight pictures today. I think I may wash it soon because I’ve been using it quite a bit lately and it’s getting hot out. And that’ll help get some more evo going.

@Mizmazzle Yea I like it so much I’m thinking about looking for a backup! I did a warm soak initially, then a hot soak to really shrink it down. It shrunk the leather patch a little more than I’d hoped, sort of annoyed me at first. But I’ve gotten used to that. It’s really taken shape to my head too. I love the soft hand of the Sashiko and the texture. It’s a really unique fabric, especially for a hat.
It is a bit warm, so I bought one of their new black corduroy mesh back hats for the summer. -
@Danimal506 good info brother man. Thinking I’ll beat the shit out of my BT version and use it for fishing and backpacking etc. Maybe save the sashiko for a nicer, cleaner hat I can use when I want a cleaner presentation.

@Mizmazzle I’m a daily hat wearer. Ship Johns cut and pattern and fabrics have grown to become my favorite hats over the years.
I love the brass cap and holes. I haven’t had any issues with the snap back falling apart and the bill holds strength. I just wish they would repeat a pattern for the ones I missed. But every hat is one and done.
