I second everyone else here @cander49 it looks great man.

@Dishelveled @Manticore your photos are making me want this thing and I just got the IHM-15 lol. You know this is a totally different beast though, surely I can justify it to myself lol.

@cander49 I think the fit looks spot on. As others have already stated, there's the possibility you'll lose some length in the body and especially the sleeves if you sized down. But, I guess it depends on whether or not you want a more fitted look/feel or if you want to layer.

          Different beasts indeed–@madmoses

Love em both for their different roles:

The deck jacket shows way more casual and is considerably less warm.

The wool m65 is beastly warm and elevates boots and jeans to a 'smarter' look.

My two favorite warm IH jackets (sorry ihw-10) and feel both are indispensable to my Winter line-up.

Edit: I don't own the IHM-15 (Deck Half Coat) but the IHM-14.  I've read the 15 is substantially warmer than the 14.

Even if the IHM-15 is similar warmth, I love the IHW-13 for the "smart" look as you say!

I'm going to add it to my list! But first, the IHJ-69! 😎 lol

Here's a small grey with a 14 oz cpo (ie a legitimately thick layer) underneath. First, I'm surprised that I prefer the grey color. Second, I prefer this fit. It's absolutely as slim as I can go, but I think it's better. Cut through the body is dead on what I want.

                Nice fit too @cander49

I don't know wich one i like better… small looks a tad small too me, on the short side and don't looks like you'll have room for layering. Does it gives enough room for mobility? I often have the same problem as you, too much room in the back but otherwise a pretty nice fit.  I think i'd prefer the medium and would try to use the drawstrings...

When my time comes I want to be buried face down. That way whoever doesn’t like me can kiss my ass.

Thanks for the input, everyone. I decided on the small, which is already as layered as it's going to get there. The medium still feels too big totally layered up, but the small gives me the slim fit through the body that I feel is necessary for how I want it to fit for me. I also prefer the shorter cut on the small, even though that's also not as traditional. Finally, while the black color looks better in photos, all the details pop much more on the grey in person.

Lighter weight… so... tighter weave? Lining appears to be the same on my pea.

(I never really looked at these until Field Jacket Fever hit this week. They are pretty amazing.)

I have the GRY. The hood is sewn in. The collar is not dependent on the hood to stand up. The Melton wool is very substantial and holds its own weight. You can also fold the collar down with the hood without a problem should you wish it.

You could cut the hood out if it really offends, but it does not really interfere with the collar as it is pretty lightweight ripstop
